The voice of progressive left wing thinking on campus and beyond, join us today to fight for social justice and equality. Our society attracts the best speakers on the left and aims to lay on an event every week to engage with our members who remain at the heart of our movement. We are an active society, at the forefront of student politics at LSE

This is a joint statement of solidarity with Palestine from 46 societies at the LSE.

We unequivocally condemn the violent oppression of Palestinians. Our society stands firmly against all oppression and breaches of human rights. The continued, violent, oppression of Palestinians goes against our values as a Society and the LSE as a whole. We are committed to values of justice, equality and freedom, so we cannot remain silent!

We welcome the news of the ceasefire. This news shows us the power of social media and raising awareness for the Palestinian plight. However, our efforts should not end here – we need to intensify our efforts to end this injustice. The ceasefire does not end the settler-colonialism, the blockade, the ethnic cleansing nor the Israeli Apartheid! Our statement and demands are more relevant than ever before. We want to continue advocating for free speech on campus, supporting the Palestinian liberation struggle and fighting for divestment.

Our demands are of equal importance, and we call on LSE to meet them. (check slide 4)

We, as a collective, condemn any forms of bullying, harassment, racism, anti-Semitism and Islamophobia! The increase of anti-Semitism in the UK in the previous weeks is unacceptable and we firmly stand against it.

Please send the letter linked below to LSE calling for the demands to be met!

We encourage all students to stand for this cause.

🌹VOTE NOW🌹
The poll is open to make the following updates to our constitution:

- Formal inclusion of amendments passed last year to allow for co-chairs and the creation of an Environment Officer.

- Consolidation of committee positions to make roles and responsibilities clearer: we've removed the 2 Vice Chair positions and three/four Bloc positions which didn't have a clear practical remit, reducing the overall number of committee positions from 12 to 7, in line with the size of other society's committees.

- Revision of election process to account for new SU mandated timescales and the shift to online voting
