Your High Commission has the honour to inform of the sad occasion of the demise of the former President and Speaker of the House of Fiji, the late Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.

Having served as a former Head of State, Speaker of the House and a Diplomat; Ratu Epeli Nailatikau has left such an impactful imprint in the various capacities where he served.

As a former High Commissioner to the Court of St James, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau was a charismatic and principled leader. He consistently championed the national interests and inspired generations of leaders and Diplomats.

The late Ratu Epeli Nailatikau leaves behind a distinguished and enduring legacy. His exemplary leadership was marked by a blend of cultural grounding, diplomatic excellence and genuine accessibility. His legacy of service, dignity and commitment will continue to inspire the nation, region and all those privileged to have been acquainted with him.

In honoring a life of a chief, a leader, a visionary and a mentor; in the late Ratu Epeli Nailatikau; the Fiji High Commission wishes to invite members of our Community to sign a dedicated condolence book at the Mission.

The condolence book will be available for signing from Tuesday the 07th to Friday the 17th of April, from 10am to 3pm daily.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Hon. Sakiasi Ditoka, is attending the 26th Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting (CFAMM) at Lancaster House in London, United Kingdom, today, 8 March 2026.

CFAMM brings together Foreign Ministers from across the Commonwealth to consider the organisation’s role in a fast‑changing international landscape, including heightened geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainty, and to shape policy priorities ahead of the 28th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Antigua and Barbuda.

Hon. Ditoka’s participation underscores Fiji’s commitment to working with fellow Commonwealth members to support multilateralism, advance the interests of small and vulnerable states, and help build a more effective and responsive Commonwealth.

Foreign ministers will meet today for the 26th Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting in London ahead of .

Discussions will focus on the Commonwealth’s role in a fast-changing global landscape and how member countries can work together to unlock opportunities for shared prosperity.

Ministers will also help shape priorities ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting ( ).
