Du behöver vara kvalitetsmedveten och resultatorienterad samt ha ett gott omdöme och hög integritet. Du har god social förmåga och är bra på att kommunicera såväl i tal som i skrift på svenska och engelska.

Yesterday at the Swedish Residence, we had the pleasure of celebrating Granta Magazine’s Spring issue, dedicated to some of Scandinavia’s most influential and creative voices.

The evening opened with remarks by Sweden’s Ambassador to the UK, Stefan Gullgren, and an introduction from Granta editor Thomas Meaney.

We then listened to a poem by Ingela Strandberg, read by Sigrid Rausing, followed by an introduction to author Lars Norén by our Counsellor for Cultural Affairs, Elin Norquist.

An excerpt from his diary was read by Swedish actor Philip Zandén, who recently starred in one of Noréns last plays, Communion.

We had the pleasure of welcoming Martin Gelin ahead of the English launch of his book Rules of Attraction, for a conversation on the importance of soft power in times of uncertainty.

Moderated by Samira Ahmed, the discussion explored how cultural capital can strengthen resilience and democratic norms, as well as the risks of neglecting cultural institutions and values.

Drawing on his international experience, Martin highlighted how cultural strategies can support openness and public wellbeing, while also, in some contexts, being used to advance authoritarian aims.

On 21–22 May, Sweden will host the Meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Helsingborg. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Maria Malmer Stenergard held a press briefing ahead of the meeting, which comprises two main parts: an informal dinner at Sofiero Palace on the first day, followed by a ministerial meeting on the second day.

The European Writers Festival 2026 welcomed authors from across Europe to the British Library for a weekend of creative discovery and conversation. 📚

At the opening, we were reminded of Umberto Eco’s words: “the language of Europe is translation.” The festival highlighted the power of storytelling and its ability to connect us across languages and borders. 🌍

Swedish author and playwright Sara Stridsberg brought the audience into her acclaimed novel “The Faculty of Dreams,” reflecting on how her stories shape both her creative and personal identity. She also explored how her novels manage to portray life’s difficult realities while still recognising the kindness and beauty that endure.
