South Lambeth Library is located between Stockwell and Vauxhall in the heart of
Lambeth's Portuguese We also have daily newspapers and regular magazines.
We offer books for loan, study space, free use of computers, photocopying and printing. We have book groups, wriggle and rhyme groups, ESOL classes, knitting, film and gardening clubs. The library also holds special collections of books in Portuguese, Spanish and Polish as well as Black Interest, Eritrean, LGBTQ+, large print books for adults and giant print books for children. Have you seen our Black History Month programme... there are still places available for some great events.
It's time to celebrate! For all those who've taken part in the Summer Reading Adventure and congratulations to all those who finished, tomorrow they can come to the library to get their certificate and medal and any stickers and prizes they missed. The fun starts from 3pm. Don't worry if you miss it - they can collect from w/c 15 September, after our grand reopening!
We are closing from Monday 8 September for one week for our refurbishment to be completed. We will reopen at 1pm on Monday 15 September. If you need to access a library during the closure your nearest Lambeth Libraries branches are Durning Library (closed Thursdays) or Clapham Library (open 7 days). We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and hope that you'll be pleased with the final results - come and check us out from Monday 15 September!

For today's Summer Reading Adventure craft activity we made Animal Carnival Masks - and some more treasure maps. Next week we'll be exploring Lego Robotics with our Lego Robotics workshop, join us at 3pm.

We now have rooms to hire - perfect for your meetings, functions, and events. The large meeting room has a maximum seated capacity of 40 people, priced at £45 per hour.
