⚠️ WANTED ⚠️

We are appealing for help to find a man who has absconded from HMP Springhill near Grendon Underwood.

Darnell Smith, aged 27, is around 5ft 8ins tall and of medium build. He was last seen wearing all black clothes.

Smith, pictured below, has links to Surrey, Sussex, Croydon and Plumstead in London.

Smith, who was jailed for possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A and exploitation, escaped on Wednesday.

Today marks the start of a series of events in celebration of National Hate Crime Awareness Week that runs from 11th-18th October.

Your LGBT+ community liaison officer is currently at Kidbrooke Community Hub alongside Greenwich council and other organisations to raise awareness to tackle hate crimes.

Stalls include various safety awareness and hate crime information/material, Greenwich council representatives and a free creative corner!

Officers specialising in engagement have been out at ASDA Charlton today raising awareness for violence against women prevention, community safety and the new Met Engage Platform

PC Savage-Knight, the lead for violence against women and girls prevention has been conducting visibility patrols around Woolwich Town Centre, meeting with local partners and community Members

⚽ Supporter information ahead of Charlton's match against Millwall tomorrow.

There will be changes to the routes fans can take to get from the ground to Charlton train station after the match. The routes are shown on the map below.

There will also be a dispersal order in place from 09:00hrs until 23:59hrs providing officers with additional powers to deal with crime and antisocial behaviour. Anyone engaged in such activity can be directed to leave the area or face arrest.

Operation Focus in Eltham High Street & Charlton Village saw Safer Neighbourhood Teams and Home Office Immigration Officers seize 11 vehicles (including illegal e-bikes), issue 21 traffic offence reports and make 1 arrest. 🚔

🚨 On Sun 17 Aug, officers stopped a moped in . A search uncovered 27 tubes of cannabis, 25 test tubes of co***ne and 20 bags of cannabis. The rider was arrested for possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs, taking the moped without consent and no insurance. He was also wanted for failing to appear for drug offences. Case now with the Crown Prosecution Service.

An operation has recently taken place with Immigration teams tackling unsafe and illegal E-Bike and Moped riders. The operation saw 6 bikes seized as well as 31 hi-vis jackets given to riders, 1 person arrested for driving disqualified and 2 arrested for immigration offences
