Due to the overwhelming reception of proposals and the incredible response from artists across disciplines, we are delighted to extend the open call for ¡Viva Frida!, a collective exhibition inspired by the life, work and enduring legacy of Frida Kahlo.

Through painting, sculpture, photography, installation, digital media and interdisciplinary practices, ¡Viva Frida! invites contemporary interpretations and creative responses to Kahlo’s powerful exploration of identity, resilience, pain, nature, love and the relationship between personal experience and artistic expression.

🗓️On 28 May 2026, Ms Michelle Bachelet, Secretary-General candidate, with other standing candidates, participated at the event: “The leader the world needs: Appointing the next UN Secretary-General”, organised by where she presented her vision about the role of the Secretary General.

Ms Bachelet was nominated by 🇲🇽Mexico and 🇧🇷 Brasil as candidate to that position. supported the participation of Ms Bachelet at this event.

On May 23, 2026, at the World Cultures Gallery of the in Liverpool, allies, collaborators, and colleagues gathered to pay tribute to the living memory preserved in the Mexican codex 🇲🇽 Amoxtli Tezcatlipoca, during a deeply meaningful event dedicated to honoring and celebrating Indigenous cultures.

The ceremony featured contributions from Greta de León of , Meghan Backhouse, Principal Curator of Global Cultures and Jessica Cuapio, representing . Attendees also enjoyed a dance performance from the Puebla region by the Colibrí Folkloric Dance Group , the Inti Tusuy Dance Group, as well as a musical performance by Grupo Luma, featuring its founder and creative director Francisco Carrasco

During the gathering, a profound acknowledgment of the manuscript was expressed, and the start of the production of facsimiles was announced—an important step toward strengthening its preservation and accessibility, aimed at creating new avenues for study and exchange. 🇲🇽🇬🇧🌎
