Mitchell was born 17th June 2005, He was born a very healthy weight at 9lb 10oz. Our worst nightmare was about to be told to us !!!!
Not long after arriving home from hospital, we started to notice that Mitchell was suffering constipation. After a 5 year battle with my local GP and Mitchell being put on adult formula medication to go to the toilet. Our son has stage 4 Neuroblastoma a very aggressive and hard to treat and cure childhood cancer. Since his diagnosis, Mitchell had undergone several grueling treatments and open surg
ery to remove the primary tumor, which was located above his left kidney attached to the adrenal gland.He then went onto having chemotherapy, radiotherapy and stem cell rescue. Mitchell also took part in the UK Antibody trial. After the long hard battle of all the above mentioned treatments, Mitchell relapsed as soon as the standard protocol finished. In May 2012, we headed to Tijuana in Mexico to a clinic called Hope for Cancer. We had been reading successful stories of the non toxic treatment and doing lots of research on this. Mitchell was also very excited that he did not need chemo anymore, he had had enough !!! We spent 21 days in clinic and we worked very hard in learning the treatment. At the end of treatment we could clearly see the tumor on his skull was shrinking dramatically and he was now running around and being happy. A scan in the radiology center confirmed the tumor was now dying. We cried with such tears of joy. After a week of being home our Mitchell started to take a turn for the worse. Unfortunately the cancer was now getting out of control Our son Mitchell passed away in our arms the early hours of 1:54am 25th August 2012. We have decided to keep the group going in our sons memory as we have now set up a Registered Charity called The Mitchell Huth Memorial Fund (Registered Charity No- 1152726) to help other families fighting the same Neuroblastoma cancer.
