One year ago, Labour African Network (LAN) was founded to amplify Africa’s voice within UK political circles and to champion causes that affect the community.

Since then, we have:

✅ Supported Vaughan Gething as Wales’ First Minister – a historic first for a man of African descent.

✅ Achieved a 90% success rate in Parliamentary and Local election campaigns for Labour’s candidates of African descent.

✅ Hosted a maternal health symposium tackling racial disparities.

✅ Strengthened UK-Africa relations through high-level engagements with ministers, Ambassadors, High Commissioners and other stakeholders.

✅ Provided strategic support to uphold The Gambia’s FGM ban.

✅ Engaged in cultural diplomacy, supporting the Ashanti Kingdom’s UK celebrations.
