A huge well done to our Havering Cadets and instructors, who helped Hornchurch Blue watch raise over £950 yesterday for Fire Fighters Charity 🥳
The Firefighters charity provides a wide range of support to UK fire service personnel, including those who have retired and their families, as well as volunteers.
We had a great time and finished the afternoon off with a water fight in the warm weather 🌞

On Saturday our Officer Cadets from Havering & Dagenham joined our fire investigation team and DAC Jamie Jenkins at the National Red Plaque Fire service memorial in Essex.
The memorial honours Firefighters and control staff from across the UK who dedicated their lives to serving their communities.
The service included the inauguration of the new K9 memorial, a statue that honours the service of Fire and Rescue dogs, and the important roles they play in fire investigation, search and rescue, and Firefighter welfare.
We were honoured to represent at such a special and meaningful event.

A huge royal congratulations to two of our Volunteer Cadet Instructors, Nick & Scott, who have attended garden parties at Buckingham Palace this week!
The garden parties have been held to recognise the service of volunteers and emergency services workers for contributions to their communities.
Nominating just two of our incredible volunteers is always a challenge, but both Scott and Nick have spent several years giving up their own time in order to support young people across London.
Nick is a former Firefighter who brings a wealth of operational knowledge, and some terrible dad jokes, and Scott is well known for going above and beyond when it comes to creating and building new games and challenges at his Cadet Unit.
Thank you both for your dedication!

What a fantastic weekend for us and London Fire Brigade!
Not only did we have a brand new group of Volunteer Instructors completing their practical training with us but we enjoyed open day events at the TCS London Marathon supporting Fire Fighters Charity
Well done to everyone involved in supporting this jam-packed weekend and all those waking up with sore feet this morning!

Since last year, the Mayor's office of Barnet has begun appointing Mayor's Cadets, from several uniformed youth organisations. This has enabled Cadets to become involved in several civic events.
Leading Fire Cadet Evelyn Taylor from our Barnet unit has been one of the first to undertake this role in the borough. She has attended several events with the Mayor, Councillor Danny Rich, such as a citizenship ceremony, Holocaust Memorial, and Armed Forces day.

This week some of our Cadets have been thinking up innovative new ideas for firefighting equipment of the future!
Designs have included thermal imaging visors, iron man style suits with hose attachments, and even a firefighting rescue drone.
We loved hearing all the creativity, and who knows, maybe one day you will see a firefighter in a superhero suit!

A group of cadets from Tottenham unit were invited along to a women's community day at Broadwater Farm Community Centre on Saturday.
Cadets were on hand to demonstrate CPR and the use of an AED.
Whenever, wherever we can, we like to demonstrate how simple CPR is and remove any apprehension about using a defibrillator.

High standards, higher ladders 🤩
Thanks to Paddington fire station for an incredible experience for our young people!
