Members of the St Matthias were pleased to attend the induction of Rev Charis as Rector-Designate of our neighbouring parish of St Mary's.

Join us every Wednesday at 11:30 AM for a celebration of the Mass, which serves as a spiritual gathering and a time for reflection.

Following the service, we invite you to partake in a Lenten Lunch, a meal that not only nourishes the body but also fosters a sense of community and fellowship.

After lunch, engage in a thought-provoking discussion group where participants can share insights, explore faith-related topics, and deepen their understanding of the Lenten season.

This is an excellent opportunity to connect with others, enrich your spiritual journey, and contribute to a supportive and welcoming community.

You might have asked those four life-changing words last night: “Will you marry me” and they say “yes”.

Firstly, congratulations to you both!

Secondly, if you are considering a church wedding it is easier than ever to get married in your local church. You don’t have to be baptised to have a church wedding, nor do you have to be a church attendee.

If you don’t live in the parish that needn’t be a problem either as you can qualify to get married in our church in many other ways such as if your parents got married here, or you were baptised or confirmed here or lived in the parish at any point in your life, or you have worshipped here for six months or more…to name but a few qualifying factors.

A Church of England wedding isn’t as expensive as you think either. A wedding in 2025 can cost as little as £544 approx and can be as simple or ornate as you wish.

Blessed St Matthias Day

Thank you to all who attended our 171st celebration, many thanks to The Rt Rev Jonathan Baker, Bishop of Fulham for being our officiant and Preacher, The Chorus of Dissent, and Karen Whittington-Phillips and the Stoke Newington Air Cadets 296 StokeNewington ATC Sqn who graced us with their presence.

Please pray for the parish, its people and those who were confirmed on Sunday.
