Another childminder agency (CMA) myth debunked! CMAs’ inspections are based on the regulations and inspection handbook for CMAs, not on the EYFS. Their inspection judgement is either Effective or Not Effective. Obviously, childminders cannot be rated the same way as their inspections are aligned to the EYFS requirements. It is surprising this pointless myth is so prominent on the online forums. It’s time to put it to bed! Report suggests relaxing ratios and giving childminder agencies greater powers will ease childcare costs
A new report looking at ways to reform childcare recommends staff: child ratios be relaxed further than the proposed 1:5 in 'good' and 'outstanding' nurseries and suggests childminder agencies take on a larger role within the sector.
