Just in case you haven’t met Dan…

You’ve probably seen me around — I’m Dan, the founder of The EPIC Family CIC 👋

I’m a foster parent to two amazing little girls and, alongside my husband, also a special guardian to siblings we previously fostered — so this journey is both personal and professional for me.

Alongside leading EPIC, I’m also a trustee for a children’s counselling charity and Chair of Governors at a secondary school — all roles I’m incredibly passionate about.

I’m so proud of what we’ve built with EPIC, from the initial idea right through to successfully navigating the Ofsted registration process.

At my core, I believe in collaborative working — always putting the best interests of children and young people first.

It’s been such an exciting few months as we’ve welcomed new team members and supported our very first EPIC fostering families — and this is only the beginning!

Cathey advises that fostering isn’t about the perfect moments. It’s about staying steady through the storms, creating safety, and showing up.
“Don’t expect lots of “I love yous” or “best mum ever”, because these come and go like the weather changing! The key thing we can do is just hold the ship steady, make sure our wee ones feel safe and know that we can repair pretty much anything. They are worth going through the storms for, and we won’t be easily scared off!”
