The Patient Engagement Forum (PEF) launched in 2021 to inform and support the HFEA. We know that people’s experiences of fertility treatment differ based on their individual circumstances, and it’s crucial that this is considered as part of our work.

A new treatment add-on rating has been added to our website.

Microbiome testing interventions have been rated grey, which means we cannot rate the effectiveness of this add-on at improving treatment outcomes as there is insufficient moderate or high-quality evidence. Our review rated several interventions used following microbiome testing including antioxidant supplements, and all were rated grey.

S***m DNA fragmentation testing has been rated grey, which means we cannot rate the effectiveness of this add-on at improving treatment outcomes as there is insufficient moderate or high-quality evidence. Our review rated several interventions used following s***m DNA fragmentation testing. Most interventions were rated grey, except one, which was rated red, due to potential safety concerns.

Our ‘Choose a Fertility Clinic’ (CaFC) tool has now been updated with data covering treatments in 2025 and births in 2024.

CaFC is the only place where you can compare verified data from licensed UK clinics to find the right clinic for you. View recent inspection reports, treatments offered, opening hours, patient ratings, and success rates all in one place.
