There are several ways a clinic can help you find the right donor:
📋Clinic donor lists - Many clinics hold lists of s***m, egg or embryo donors to choose from and is the safest option.
👥 Someone you know - You can use a friend or someone you know, though restrictions apply for close relatives. Speak to your clinic for guidance.
🩺Donors from established s***m or egg bank - UK clinics can import s***m, eggs or embryos from overseas under strict conditions. You'll need a licensed clinic that offers import and export services.

Using an unregulated s***m donor found on an app, website, or social media may cause serious medical, legal, and emotional risks that will have lifelong impacts for you and any children born.
Unregulated s***m donation is when the process of donating s***m takes place outside a HFEA licensed clinic. This means that the person receiving the donation will have no legal protection.
Our FAQs will help you understand the risks involved: www.hfea.gov.uk/about-us/media-centre/faqs-relating-to-unregulated-s***m-donation/
