Big news! ๐ข We are incredibly proud to announce that Souvenir Press (Profile Books) has acquired 'Man Enough: How to Protect Boys from Online Misogyny' - written by our very own founder, Matteo Bergamini MBE, and Head of Strategy and Communications, Amelia Fairney ๐
The "manosphere" is a minefield of misinformation that preys on young menโs insecurities and harms women and girls. At Shout Out UK, weโve seen firsthand how vital media literacy is in "inoculating" the next generation against toxic narratives.
This book is a culmination of that work, a practical guide for parents to help their sons build emotional resilience, debunk sexist narratives, and foster respectful relationships in a digital world.
As Matteo says: "Itโs time to ensure online misogyny is relegated to the dustbin of history."

We must stop the serious and pervasive harms caused by unsafe and unregulated AI chatbots.
That's why we are just one of many expert organisations calling on the Lords to adopt a new amendment to the Crime and Policing Bill this week that would, for the first time, hold the tech companies criminally liable for their harmful AI products.
The amendment tabled by Baroness Kidron would make it a criminal offence for tech companies not to risk-assess their products before deployment or to take steps to mitigate the risks to UK users from content and design-based harms.
Read the full statement at link in bio and share with your networks.
Let's act now, together, to end the harms caused by chatbots and hold the tech companies to account.

Big news for Media Literacy! ๐ข
This afternoon, the House of Lords will debate a landmark report from its Communications and Digital Committee - and we are proud to see Shout Out UKโs evidence right at the heart of it.
After years of advocating for better media literacy and our CEO Matteo Bergamini providing oral evidence, many of our core recommendations have been taken up by the Committee. This report is a massive step toward ensuring every citizen has the tools to navigate our complex information environment.
The reportโs core recommendations include:
๐ Embedding Media Literacy in the National Curriculum: Moving beyond postcode lotteries to ensure every child learns critical thinking from an early age. Weโre pleased to say this is on the government has already acted on. Good work Peers!
๐จโ๐ป Demanding more from Platforms: Moving to mandatory standards and a levy on tech giants to fund independent media literacy initiatives.
This is a huge moment for democracy and our information ecosystem. Tune into Parliament TV this afternoon via the link below to watch the debate live and see democracy in action!
