As part of the South London Listens programme, Be Well Hubs help create safe, welcoming spaces where people can find connection, support and hope through trusted community organisations.
Sacred Heart Wimbledon is building on its strong tradition of compassion and community by equipping clergy, staff and volunteers to listen well, support people safely, and signpost people to the help they need.
As Graham Kennedy shares: "Our encouragement to other parishes and faith communities is simple: start small, listen well, work safely, and build on the gifts already present in your community. Becoming a Be Well Hub can help turn compassion into practical action – and help more people encounter support, dignity and hope."
Because sometimes one conversation can help a person or family take the next step towards support, healing and hope. 💙

Happy ! We’re proud to be celebrating with our communities across south west London 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Pride is both a celebration and a call to action – a time to recognise how far we’ve come, reflect on the challenges that remain, and stand in solidarity with LGBTQIA+ communities.
Later this month, members of our LGBTQIA+ staff network will be out in the community, including at the Furzedown & Tooting Pride day time community event on Saturday 20 June. They’ll be sharing information about our services and mental health support – stop by and say hello if you see them!
At South West London and St George’s, we’re committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone – whether you work here or receive care from our services 💙

👋 Meet Helen, a specialist mental health dietitian working on our acute mental health wards.
For , Helen explains why nutrition plays such a vital role in mental health:
“When someone isn’t eating a balanced diet, it can significantly affect their mood, overall mental wellbeing and recovery. Equally, deficiencies in key nutrients can impact both physical and mental health.”
For many people, a decline in mental health can lead to poor nutrition – skipped meals, weight loss, or difficulty maintaining a routine. Supporting individuals to re-establish regular eating patterns and achieve a healthy weight can be a key step in their recovery journey.
But it’s not just about physical health.
“Food is also about quality of life. It’s social, it’s enjoyable. Helping someone get back to enjoying food again, including the social aspects of eating and drinking, is also really important for wellbeing.”
While dietitians support patients, their advice is just as relevant to all of us.
Helen’s message: “Enjoy your food, aim for a healthy, balanced diet, and try not to restrict foods unnecessarily. Aim for balance, regular meals, and including plenty of fruit and vegetables!” 🥦🍎

🎨 Exciting things are coming to Springfield Village!
The design of new public art and outdoor seating for Springfield Village will soon be underway, with opportunities for local people to get involved in co-designing them.
As part of the final residential phase of the Springfield Village development, a team of creatives (POoR Collective, Raskl. Art + Architectural and Orakel Workshop) have been commissioned by Barratt London and AND London to create a series of permanent artworks and seating.
The artworks will take the form of five interactive installations inspired by the senses – sight, sound, smell, touch and taste – while the seating will blend practical function with artistic design, ensuring it is accessible and welcoming to a wide range of users.
Want to get involved? Join the first public workshop in Springfield Park this Saturday 30 May, 11am–1pm. Spaces are limited – to attend, email [email protected].
We’re committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive space around Springfield Hospital, and projects like this are key to that vision 🌳 🌿

We were proud to host a special event showcasing the artworks created through the Culturally Mindful programme in Wandsworth 🎨💙
A group of Global Majority artists have been working with healthcare providers and local organisations to deliver creative health activities for underserved groups — including disabled adults, young people, carers, and people affected by ill health.
The project has led to the creation of some incredible artworks, including a piece displayed in our Wandsworth CAMHS service thanks to artist Shiza Naveed.
