The LSE SU ASEAN Society, CUSEAS, LSE SU Indonesian Society and Cambridge Indonesia Association are proud to present In Conversation With: Gita Wirjawan, The End of Globalisation? Regional Economics, National Champions and Technological Decoupling.

Gita Wirjawan is the Chairman of Ancora Group, an Indonesian business group with interests in private equity investing, natural resources, real estate, sports, and music, which he founded in 2008. He served as Minister of Trade and Chairman of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) of the Indonesian Government during the period 2009-2014. As an investment banker, he has held key senior appointments at Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan, playing leading roles in many mergers, corporate restructuring, corporate financing and strategic sales involving leading companies in Southeast Asia.

Gita is currently a member of international advisory board of the CHUBB group of insurance companies, and a member of advisory board of Alpha JWC Ventures, a South East Asian venture capital firm. In education, Gita sits at the council of Global Advisors for Yale University School of Management, and the board of Governors for Asia School of Business (MIT Sloan).

This talk will be moderated by Muhammad Yorga Permana a PhD Candidate, at the Department of Geography and the Environment at the LSE. The first section of the event will be a moderated Q&A, before the floor is opened up for questions from the audience.

The talk will be held on Zoom, on 27 March (Saturday), 1100-1230 (GMT) / 1800-1930 (WIB). The link to the event will be sent nearer to the event date
