We recently held the sectors bi-annual recruit camp. A weekend that pushes the recruits to their limits, allowing them to see what they are capable of in a safe, training environment. Over the weekend they participated in leadership activities, first aid scenarios, a night exercise and much more!
A special shout-out to Cdt Seddon for being nominated “best recruit” of the weekend.

This week, 12F was honoured to host the Member of Parliament for Leyton & Wanstead, Calvin Bailey MP.
During the visit, the Squadron’s Drone and Rocketry Team delivered a compelling presentation on the RTX Quadcopter competition, as well as on their preparations for the UK Youth Rocketry Competition.
The team, as well as the wider Squadron, received very positive feedback.
Cadets also had a valuable opportunity to hear from Calvin, an ex RAF Wing Commander, asking engaging questions about his service and experiences.
Thank you to Calvin and his team - the Squadron looks forward to working with you closely in the near future!

This month we said goodbye to FS Cornelius.
After 7 years at the squadron, FS is leaving having left a big impact on the squadron.
As the banner bearer, Cornelius won first place at wing level twice as well as at region level, going on to represent LASER at a variety of high profile events.
She also had a successful time on the ranges, earning her cadet 50 at CISSAM 2023. FS Cornelius represented the squadron at a wide variety of events including Inness Sword and wing athletics.
The flight sergeant was an important part of the squadron, being a positive role model to all the cadet through both her qualifications and personal professional development and her dedication to the cadets and recruits.
The squadron wishes her the best and looks forward to welcoming her back as staff!

Earlier this month we said goodbye to Cadet Warrant Officer Wilby, who has been an integral part of the squadron for the past 7 years.
Over her cadet career, the CWO accomplished an array of prestigious things. She completed both the cadet flying scholarship as well as the cadet gliding scholarship where she was appointed as a flight staff cadet and completed her advanced gliding training. She had the opportunity to go abroad twice- to both Belgium and Washington DC. She completed the Junior Leaders Course, a testing fieldcraft and leadership course. She achieved FCI, Gold leadership, Gold First Aid and is in the process of completing Gold DofE. She also had success at shooting competitions- gaining a cadet 100 at ISCRM 2023 as well as winning an individual competition and 2nd place in the inter service final at the same competition. She led successful teams at the inness sword competition and banner team at wing field day, coming 3rd and 1st respectively. She was also active within the wing at different sport events including athletics and tag rugby.
Over the years, the CWO attended many parades, assisted with different events and ran her own courses , consistently showing up and proving her dedication.
Her efforts to the squadron, wing and core have not gone unnoticed and we look forward to welcoming her back as a staff member.
