Growing UAS capability
Y Company ran a SUAS course in Tidworth, qualifying the majority of the Company.

Fusiliers delivering on the trails 🏃♂️
Following recent success at the Army Inter Corps Cross Country Championships, members of the Battalion continued the momentum at the Army Trail Championships in Wi******er.
CSgt Urwin competed in the 20km race, securing Gold with the Veteran Team and Gold with the Senior Team after a recount confirmed the Infantry victory.
Sgt Beck ran the 10km race, earning Silver with the Infantry Senior Team.
Sgt Sophie Smith (RAMS), currently attached to 1 RRF as a Nurse, ran the 10km race, finishing 2nd fastest female overall and securing Silver with the RAMS team.
Next up: the Army Half Marathon Championships in Fleet on 29 March, where Fusiliers will look to carry this strong form into the next event.

1 RRF Cross-Country on the rise 🏃♂️🏅
Following strong performances in the Southern Cross-Country League, the momentum continues for the Battalion team.
Sgt Oakes and CSgt Urwin were selected to represent the Infantry Cross-Country Team at the Army Championships held at Gibraltar Barracks, Camberley — a reflection of the standards being set within 1 RRF.
Sgt Sophie Smith (RAMS), currently attached to 1 RRF as a Nurse, competed with the RAMS women’s team, who secured 1st place overall.

The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers has a proud history of cross-country success across Germany, Cyprus, and the UK. With continued commitment and wider participation, there’s every reason to believe the Battalion can compete for league titles again next season.
Partners in Action 🇬🇧🇰🇼
The culmination of Exercise Desert Warrior saw X Company and the Kuwait Army conduct a combined final attack during the DV Day demonstration, with 6 Platoon assaulting the objective alongside Kuwaiti forces.
Supported by Apaches, Warriors, Sherpa mobility vehicles, UAS, and tanks, the event demonstrated the strength of UK–Kuwait partnership, interoperability, and shared combat readiness built through joint training.

Building Partnership Through Training 🇬🇧🇰🇼
Throughout Exercise Desert Warrior, X Company trained alongside the Kuwait Army across a range of activities, including section-level training, physical development, professional exchanges, and competitive sport.
Training together strengthens interoperability, builds trust, and reinforces the partnerships that underpin future operations.

Boxer live. Rounds downrange. ⚙️🔥
This week, the team took Boxer onto the ranges, conducting live fire serials and firing the Remote Weapon System (RWS) to build confidence, accuracy, and crew drills on the platform.
Training the fundamentals now — ready to deliver when it counts.

Boxers learning Boxer🥊⚙️
First Fusiliers (a boxing battalion 🥊) are currently on Boxer courses, building skills to drive, command, and operate the Remote Weapon System (RWS) as we develop expertise on the Army’s protected mobility platform.
Within 1 RRF, Boxer will support command and control, medical evacuation, logistics, and other specialist roles — improving protection, mobility, and flexibility across the Battalion.

Y Company Live Fire Training 🔥
Y Company has deployed to Brecon to conduct a series of live fire ranges, sharpening marksmanship and battle drills in demanding terrain.
Next week, the focus shifts to Section Live Fire (Day and Night)— building confidence, control, and effectiveness in low-light conditions.
