At Arhag, LGBTQ+ History Month is a time to reflect on the experiences, resilience and contributions of LGBTQ+ communities. It reinforces the importance of standing together as a community, ensuring equal rights for all, and offering meaningful support to those who need it most. Everyone deserves not just a house, but a place where they feel safe, valued and at home.
For many LGBTQ+ refugees and migrants, access to safe housing is more than a basic need - it can be life-changing.
We remain committed to providing secure, inclusive homes where everyone is treated with dignity and respect, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Throughout October, we are recognising Black History Month. It is a time to honour the strength and lasting impact of Black communities in the UK.
This yearβs theme, Standing Firm in Power and Pride, speaks to the courage it takes to speak up, hold space and stay true to who you are.
We see this every day across our community.

Last month, we joined HAWA Multicultural Services for a picnic with refugee and asylum-seeking families in Hertfordshire.
It was a chance for people to spend time together, ask questions, and speak to staff from Arhag and HAWA about housing, health and other services.
Thank you to everyone who came along and to HAWA Multicultural Services CIC for making it happen.

This summer, the Arhag team visited different neighbourhoods to speak with residents and hear about their experiences.
We were joined by our Board, Scrutiny Panel, and contractor partners MNM Property Services and K&T Heating. Staff were on hand to support with questions around repairs, heating, rent and more.
Thank you to everyone who came along.
