💀 Festival of the Dead: Interactive Storytelling

Celebrate the **Festival of the Dead** with a magical storytelling adventure for children!

Join storytellers **Cat & Hutch** for an interactive performance inspired by Paweł Pawlak’s *Oscar Seeks a Friend*, published by Lantana Publishing.

💀 When Oscar the skeleton meets a lonely little girl, an adventure begins! After they both lose a tooth, they set off on an unusual journey to two very different worlds. What will they discover along the way?

Cat & Hutch bring children’s stories to life through interactive shows and workshops, encouraging children to enjoy reading, unleash their imaginations and learn through play.

📅 **Tuesday 27 October**

📍 **Hainault Library** – 11am
📍 **Goomayes Library** – 2pm

🤝Accessibility at Festival of the Dead 🌼

✨This year, we’ve tried to make the festival as inclusive as possible, with:

👏BSL interpretation of selected storytelling and author events on in Wanstead and Ilford

🎨ITZATNA Arts will be running an inclusive Tree of Life hands-on clay workshop at Redbridge Central Library, facilitated by an artist who has experience leading blind and neurodivergent participants.

🎧🧑🏽‍🦯‍➡️VocalEyes will be live describing the Ilford Parade on Friday 30 October, with a specially arranged touch tour in advance (booking advised to avoid disappointment)

👏Touch tours are designed specifically for those with sight loss and offer a unique and immersive way to engage with the show. We open the invitation to those who would benefit from the sensory experience and familiarisation.

🌲For young people with SEND, Barkingside Arts Club will be running their Memory Forest Project, with a sensory space also available at Redbridge Central Library.

🎧Selected exhibition installations have audio description.

📰An Easy Read visual story of the event will be available

🔇For those who prefer to come when the festival is quieter, we will have limited craft activities available from 12.30pm (Wanstead) and 12pm (Redbridge Central).

Contact: Sarah at [email protected] for more details and assistance booking onto sessions.
