Last week the Governor of the Province of Mendoza, Alfredo Cornejo, visited London where he maintained a productive schedule. His agenda included a meeting at the London Stock Exchange (LSE), where he presented the investment prospects and opportunities in his province and explored London’s potential as a market for listing securities of mining, oil, and gas companies.

He also attended a working lunch hosted by Ambassador Mariana Plaza, in collaboration with Balanz Capital, with representatives from some of the leading investment funds and financial services firms. The event also counted on the particpation of the President of the British Argentine Chamber of Commerce, Javier Alvarez, the Director of Trade & Investment at British Embassy Buenos Aires, Alfredo Fierro MBE, and executives from Balanz Capital.

Finally, the Energy Council and the British Argentine Chamber of Commerce hosted a dinner in honor of the Governor, attended by executives from some of the most important companies in the energy sector, potential investors, and other representatives from the energy industry. Luke Brett, Director General for the Americas at the Energy Council, gave the welcoming remarks, which were followed by a presentation from the Governor where he shared details of Mendoza’s mining potential in potassium, iron, copper, gold, silver, and uranium and highlighted the tools available to channel investments.

On June 4th, we attended the 14th edition of the Networking Day of the British Argentine Chamber of Commerce (BACC), which this year took place at the Revolut offices.

➡️ More than 100 representatives attended, from companies with interests in energy, mining, infrastructure, and other sectors.

🤝 The event featured opening remarks from Ambassador Mariana Plaza; BACC Chairman Javier Alvarez; and Alfredo Fierro MBE, Director of Trade and Investment at the UK Embassy in Argentina.

With the aim of discussing the trade and investment opportunities that Argentina presents for the UK, panels were held in which various specialists spoke about:

* Argentina’s energy landscape: opportunities and outlook.

* Financing Argentina’s key sectors through international capital markets: perspectives from global investors.

* Large Investment Incentive Regime (RIGI): implementation, early outcomes, investment and case studies.

The event concluded with a presentation by keynote speaker Rolando Figueroa, Governor of Neuquén, who spoke about Vaca Mu**ta and Argentina’s Energy Future.

Luego del discurso de bienvenida de la Embajadora Mariana Plaza durante el cocktail, se interpretó el Himno Nacional Argentino en piano. A continuación, compartimos una gran jornada junto a autoridades de gobierno, representantes de delegaciones extranjeras, empresarios, delegaciones militares y allegados a nuestra representación.

🇬🇧With profound pride, the Argentine Embassy in the UK commemorated another anniversary of the May Revolution. The activities began with a floral wreath-laying ceremony and a minute of silence at the statue of General José de San Martín, attended by the diplomatic corps and defense attachés. Subsequently, the celebration continued with an official reception at the Embassy.

Following the welcoming remarks by Ambassador Mariana Plaza during the cocktail party, the Argentine National Anthem was performed on the piano. Afterwards, we shared a wonderful evening alongside government officials, representatives of foreign delegations, business leaders, military delegations, and friends of our representation.

Yesterday, we were delighted to host a special evening at the Argentine Ambassador’s residence featuring the Argentine artist, Carolina Baldomá.

The Ambassador Mariana Plaza, welcomed our guests and opened the exhibition, highlighting how Carolina’s photography, deeply inspired by the Pampas and Argentina’s extraordinary landscapes, serves as a bridge between national identity and cultural imagination.

We are also proud that her work was selected for this year’s Photo London 2026 Screening Room. Her artistic research explores the profound dialogue between science, nature, and art, turning the landscape into a space for reflection.
