*US–Iran Talks Fail: Advocate Zeshan Syed Condemn War Crimes, Calls for Global Peace and Accountability*

The recent talks between the United States and Iran in Islamabad ending without any agreement is very worrying. At a time when the world needs peace, this failure only increases tensions and prolongs conflict in West Asia.
We strongly condemn the actions of the United States and Israel. The killing of more than 150 innocent girls in Minab on 28th February is a heartbreaking tragedy and a serious crime against humanity, The whole whole will remember a major airstrike on a girls’ school in Minab, Hormozgan province as a black day
“there is no excuse for killing girls in a classroom.”
No reason can justify such violence against civilians.
Moreover Pakistan, while projecting itself as a mediator in global conflicts, must also reflect on its own actions constituting war crimes. The targeting of innocent civilians in Poonch, Jammu Kashmir, during May 2025, along with recent cross-border actions impacting Afghanistan, raises grave concerns about its credibility as a peace broker. A nation cannot claim to promote dialogue and stability abroad while ignoring the suffering caused by its own military and proxy actions. True mediation requires accountability, responsibility, and a genuine commitment to peace on all fronts.
Attacking Iran, which is a sovereign country, is against international law. At the same time, the continued bombing of Palestine and Lebanon is deeply disturbing and shows a complete disregard for human life.
Haq Insaaf Council considers America and Israel war criminals for the destruction and suffering caused because of their illegal actions. International Court of Justice and International forums must take immediate action to investigate and prosecute those responsible for war crimes, including those linked to the “Epstein Files” network.
This conflict is not only affecting the countries involved but the whole world. Trade is being affected, economic growth is slowing down, and many foreigners working in Gulf countries are facing uncertainty. Even the flow of remittances could be impacted.
At this important time, we appeal the Global Village to choose dialogue and peace instead of war. The world cannot afford more conflict.
Peace is necessary for the future of humanity.

On the sacred occasion of the holy month of Ramzan, warm greetings are extended to the people of Jammu Kashmir and the Muslim Ummah across the world.
Ramzan is a month of fasting, reflection, and spiritual elevation. It carries the timeless message of patience (Sabr), compassion, discipline, and humility. Fasting is not merely abstaining from food and drink, but a process of self-purification and moral strengthening that nurtures God-consciousness (Taqwa) and righteousness.
The blessed month reminds society of the importance of charity, service to humanity, and standing beside the poor and underprivileged. It reinforces the values of justice, equality, and brotherhood, encouraging collective responsibility toward building a peaceful and harmonious society.
At a time when unity and mutual respect are essential, the message of Ramzan calls for promoting communal harmony, social cohesion, and dedication to truth and fairness in every sphere of life.
May this holy month bring peace, prosperity, and spiritual strength to every household.
May the prayers and fasts of all be accepted.

Haq Insaaf Council Condemns Arbitrary Detention of Elected MLA Mehraj Malik Under PSA; Highlights Failure of J&K Administration to Frame Vital Assembly Rules

The Haq Insaaf Council, under the chairmanship of Advocate Zeshan Syed, vehemently condemns the arbitrary detention of elected Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), Mr. Mehraj Malik, under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA), 1978. This act, originally legislated to prevent timber smuggling, has been notoriously misused over the decades to stifle political dissent and bypass due process. The detention of a sitting legislator, who represents the will of the people, marks a new low in the democratic functioning of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The detention order has been issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Doda, Mr. Harvinder Singh (IAS), an officer against whom the detained MLA had previously raised serious allegations of favouritism and malpractices. For an officer accused of misconduct by a public representative to then turn around and use a law like the PSA to detain his accuser raises grave questions about vendetta, abuse of power, and a complete erosion of professional ethics and constitutional morality. It establishes a dangerous precedent where the administration can weaponize laws to target elected representatives who hold them accountable. Furthermore, it is a matter of profound institutional concern that the Deputy Commissioner has formally informed the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly of this detention, effectively signalling the administration's overriding authority over the elected house. This incident underscores the catastrophic failure of the "dual governance" model in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir. Even after more than ten months since the constitution of the current Legislative Assembly, the administration has failed in its fundamental duty to prolumugate the "Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business" for the Assembly. The absence of this crucial rulebook has left the legislature weakened, unable to effectively assert its privileges, hold the bureaucracy accountable, and safeguard its members from arbitrary executive action.
The Haq Insaaf Council demands the immediate and unconditional revocation of the PSA order against MLA Mr. Mehraj Malik, A high-level, impartial inquiry into the conduct of Deputy Commissioner Doda, Mr. Harvinder Singh, concerning the allegations made against him, the urgent promulgation of the "Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business" for the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly to strengthen democratic institutions and prevent such executive overreach. An end to the misuse of preventive detention laws which undermine the very foundations of democracy and justice. We call upon the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, the Union Home Ministry, and the judiciary to take suo-motu cognizance of this alarming event and intervene to uphold the Constitution and the sanctity of the democratic institution.
