The Friends of Age Exchange & Blackheath Library raise funds for the UK's leading reminiscence charity and Blackheath Village community library, London SE3
The Age Exchange building, located in the heart of Blackheath Village in South East London is home to the UK's leading reminisence charity, Blackheath Village Library, Cafe and Theatre. Age Exchange is also home to a cafe, and hosts a range of family events, classes and book sales. The charitable work of Age Exchange uses memories and the arts to bring people together, as well as provide training to help NHS staff transform the treatment of older people, particularly Alzheimer’s and dementia sufferers. Highly acclaimed theatre groups work in Age Exchange's theatre, bringing together different generations. The Blackheath Village Library is also located at Number 11, entirely run by volunteers. The Library receives no public funding and relies on funds raised through the work of Age Exchange and The Friends.
