On 14 May 2026, H.E. Dato’ Zakri Jaafar delivered the opening remarks at the KWASA Invest Reception 2026 held at the Royal Lancaster London, which brought together senior management from the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and members of the industry for a morning of networking and engagement.

The programme featured a keynote address by Mr. Hafiz Kassim, Chief Investment Officer of EPF, as well as a guest speaker session by Tim Marshall, author of Prisoners of Geography. The reception served as a valuable platform for discussions on investments, economic developments, and global strategic trends.

On 12 May 2026, Mr. Mohiuddin Ghazali, Deputy High Commissioner, and Mr. Mohd Haniff Nazeer Ahamad, Second Secretary, attended the ASEAN London Committee (ALC) meeting with the UK–ASEAN Business Council (UKABC) at ACCA London.

The engagement reaffirmed the shared commitment between the ALC and UKABC to deepen collaboration and strengthen ASEAN–UK relations. Discussions focused on enhancing the profile of ASEAN in the United Kingdom and vice versa, as well as improving coordination on inward and outward visits and ASEAN-related programmes and events.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of continued partnership in advancing regional connectivity, business engagement, and people-to-people ties between ASEAN and the UK.

On 8 May 2026, the High Commission of Malaysia, together with MIDA London, organised the British Malaysian Society (BMS) trade delegation programme titled Business and Investment Opportunities in Malaysia, bringing together approximately 25 guests from sectors including law, business, marketing, and technology.

The programme featured special remarks by H.E. Dato’ Zakri Jaafar, High Commissioner of Malaysia, followed by welcoming remarks from Ms. Nurullydia Ahmad, Director of MIDA London. Presentations by MIDA and MATRADE highlighted Malaysia’s investment potential and trade advantages, covering sectors such as healthcare, education, hospitality, business services, information technology, green technology, and opportunities under the Johor Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) and CPTPP framework.

The session concluded with an engaging discussion and networking reception, providing a valuable platform to strengthen business engagement and promote Malaysia as a strategic hub for investment and regional operations in Asia.
