ARAMCO CARVES OUT GAS BUSINESS FOR A POSSIBLE BILLION-DOLLAR EQUITY SALE
THE MOVE: Saudi Aramco is creating a standalone gas division and considering the sale of a minority stake, while using lease-and-leaseback structures to monetize infrastructure. Its Jafurah gas expansion already generated an $11 billion infrastructure transaction led by Global Infrastructure Partners and BlackRock.

Reorganize the asset before raising capital against it.
WHY: Aramco is turning gas from an internal operating segment into a separately investable platform—bringing in external capital without surrendering control. The move also supports Saudi Arabia’s plan to free more crude for export by replacing oil in domestic power generation.
