Come one, come all and help us . No matter your gender you can always do your small bit to get more women elected to government at whichever level. It’s a patchwork, it requires us all.

Vote for WASPI in the Emergency Motion ballot 🗳️
If you’re attending party conference, take action and vote for “Justice for WASPI Women – A Historic Gender Injustice and a Shocking Labour U Turn” in the emergency motion ballot. The ballot will have arrived in your inbox at 5pm from Christian Moon titled “Vote now: Conference Emergency Motion”. This is your opportunity to put WASPI on the agenda and fight for the compensation these women deserve.
The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman found clear maladministration by the Department for Work and Pensions in failing to properly notify women of changes to their State Pension Age.
Yet despite this finding, justice for these women is still being denied.
You can further support the emergency motion and our amendment on the Jury debate, to develop a more ambitious strategy in r**e and serious sexual assault cases by voting in favour or entering speakers cards. If you need any support in writing a speech or navigating the debate, reach out to us or visit us at stand 34 in the exhibition.
We also encourage you to come and meet Angela Madden, Chair of Women Against State Pension Inequality, who will be at conference on Saturday. Visit us for a photo op with WASPI branded stickers at stand 34, immediately to the right to the entrance of the exhibition hall.

The new team on a mission to empower women in the Liberal Democrats to achieve their political goals.
We’re thrilled to see Cllr Julia Cambridge, Alice Bridges- Westcott and LDW Chair Cllr Donna Harris appointed to the leadership of the Campaign for Gender Balance. A team with a combined 39 years experience as trainers, campaigners and elected officials in the party, they will hit the ground running to train the mentor the next generation of women in the Lib Dems.
CGB has an outstanding track record, having supported 28 of our 32 women MPs. We can’t wait to see where they will take the Campaign not only providing their excellent training at party conferences, but supercharging the Future Women MPs Weekend and working in collaboration with not only LDW but diversity bodies throughout the party as well as The Alliance of Her in Europe.
If you or a woman in your local park is looking for training or mentoring throughout approval and selection, email cgb .org.uk
Congratulations ladies!

We marked IWD with a reception at the National Liberal Club and reminded ourselves how important it is to carry on advocating for women- internationally, at home and everywhere in between.
We worked hard over the last year to put global women’s rights on the agenda, putting the backlash against women’s rights front and centre in our party. We put the issue on our national stage at conference last in Autumn and made it official policy to oppose the aid cuts that disproportionately impact women and girls’ programmes.
Coming together for the reception, it’s clear that our members, including party leader live our values every day, advocating for women in their communities as they navigate inadequate local services or the asylum system.
Liberal Democrat Women is proud to provide a space for women in the party to come together, network, exchange ideas and celebrate- maybe even encourage each other to take the plunge and stand for elected politics.
We can’t wait for another year of achievement, for women, by women.

Women are natural community leaders. Yet their representation in Local Government remains sluggishly low at just over 1/3 elected representatives.
Thank you to Cllr Rachel Bentley and for hosting the Lib Dem Pathways session this week, answering questions from women at the start of their political journey. We are aiming for equality at every level and want to make sure that all of our local parties are a welcoming space for women- a place where they can build their team, feel supported against online hate and supercharge their power as leaders in their communities.
If you’re interested in standing check out the links in our Resources story and sign up to stand with 50:50 via the link in our bios.
Sign up below! 24th February from 7pm, join the brilliant Cllr Rachel Bentley and 50:50 Parliament as they share thoughts and tips on the joys and challenges of public office.
It’s open to women who are not yet politically aligned, Lib Dem aligned and those who are considering the Lib Dems.

LDW’s attended the Women in Politics conference this weekend. Speaking with an array of talented women from across the political spectrum on the Resilience and Representation panel, they explored how can our experience as women transform the leadership round us.
Thank you to KCL for hosting the event and providing an excellent space to come together, exchange ideas and network.

Violence against women and girls in the online space is a rapidly growing problem. As politicians and activists we have to be vigilant against forces which seek to silence women’s voices. Whether it’s digital abuse or the physical threat that it can quickly turn into, there is no excuse.
