Assalaamu 'Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh (May Peace and Mercy of Allah be upon You),

Alhamdulillah, Laylat al-Qadr is coming - It's the holiest night of the year for Muslims and falls within the fasting month of Ramadan.

It's variously translated as Night of Power, Night of Destiny and other names, and commemorates the night when the Qur'an was first revealed to Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessing of Allah Upon Him).

Although the prophet (Peace and Blessing of Allah Upon Him) did not mention a specific date for the Night of Power, he did say to "seek it in the last 10 days on the odd nights."

So it's thought to fall on one of the odd-numbered nights in the final ten days of Ramadan.

Let us occupy ourselves with prayers, readings, recitation, meditation and religious study, this is a good night for prayers to be answered, sins to be forgiven and divine blessings to be made.

In fact, worshipping on this night brings more reward than in 1,000 months - which is 83 years or virtually an entire lifetime.

The Qur'an says: "The Night of Power is better than a thousand months. Therein come down the angels and the Spirit by Allah’s permission, on every errand: Peace!... This until the rise of morn!"

So from our team at Al-Birr Islamic trust -
We hope all our brothers and sisters earn immeasurable rewards during some of the most sacred and beneficial nights out of the whole year!

Assalaamu 'Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh (May Peace and Mercy of Allah be upon You),

Glad Tidings, with this blessed month of Ramadan we are all striving to reap its numerous benefits Alhamdulillah!

Performing the Janazah for our fellow Muslim Brothers and Sisters is Fard Kifayah (a Communal Obligation from Allah) with GREAT REWARDS.

Yet many Muslims in our communities are either left without a proper Janazah or cannot find the total finances to cover the expenses of the Janazah for their loved ones. As an Ummah, WE are held responsible in the sight of Allah to make sure that each neighboring Muslim receives a Janazah according to the Qur'aan and the Sunnah; if not we are at SIN

Through donations Al-Birr Islamic Trust covers all of the costs of the funeral bill, cemetery bill and all necessary paperwork, by the Permission and Blessings of Allah SWT.

For this we have setup a "Lawaris charity account" and we are looking for donation's, so that we can carry out the funerals of our Muslim brothers and sisters (Known as 'Lawaaris') who genuinely don't have the ability to afford Funeral costs (have no next of kin or immediate family).

ANY EXCESS (Donation) FUNDS RECEIVED above the REQUIRED Funeral charges will be used towards the next Lawaris funeral.

Abu Rafi (May Allah be Pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (Peace and Blessing of Allah Upon Him) said: "He who washes a Muslim and conceals what he sees (bad smell, appearance, etc.) Allah SWT grants him forgiveness forty times. And he who digs for him (a grave) and buries him would be granted a reward similar to providing for him a Home until the Day of Resurrection. And he who shrouds him, Allah will clothe him on the Day of Resurrection from the silk garments of Jannah. (Al-Bayhaqi and others.)

Anyone who donates towards this Project receives these rewards as well, because through these donations, the washing and shrouding is done, the salaatul Janazah is performed and the burial is made, all according to The Qur'an & Sunnah.

Assalaamu 'Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh (May Peace and Mercy of Allah be upon You),

Glad Tidings, We are approaching a third way into Ramadan Alhamdulillah!

We would like to update the community with the recent progress in the work that Al-Birr Islamic Trust provides.

The Al-Birr Islamic Trust Funeral Service was initially setup to provide burial advice and support.

The expanding congregation and therefore demand has led to Al-Birr Islamic Trust providing an obligatory service in accordance with authentic guidelines stipulated under Shariah to the Muslims of our community. Death is a reality that we all must face.

Al-Birr Islamic Trust has recently gone through a transition phase. We are now offering more than a ghusl, shroud and storage facility. Al-Birr Islamic Trust has expanded to include:

> Wash room where the body of the deceased is washed
> Associated administration office and storage facilities
> Private hearse for transportation of the deceased

To mark this milestone, we would like to inform the community that for this bless month of Ramadan 2018/1439 we will be providing FREE Janazah Care.

For further details, please give us a call on 02088545175 / 07958386448 or visit the Al-Birr Islamic Trust Funeral Service website: www.albirrtrust.co.uk

Please donate generously to help fund our newly acquired hearse in this blessed month of Ramadan. Al-Birr Islamic Trust need all our help to maintain and carry on forward to our next generation.

Assalaamu 'Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh (May Peace and Mercy of Allah be upon You),

Glad Tidings, Ramadan is here Alhamdulillah!

From Allah's abundant blessings bestowed upon us, is that the Almighty has granted us another opportunity to witness the blessed month of Ramadan. An opportunity, to strengthen and build important relationships in our lives and more importantly our relationship with Allah (SWT).

This month of Ramadan is one of forgiveness, compassion and without mentions many blessings. It is the month of the Qur’an, fasting and Taqwa. Let us all focus and maximise the rewards of this month as relayed through the narration of a hadith by the messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم).

The messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم) said: “When the first night of Ramadan enters, the Shaitan are tied up in hell, and the gates of hell are locked closed and not a single one of them is open, the gates of paradise are open and not a single one of them is closed, a caller announces: ‘Oh doer of good come forth, for now is the time for you to do good and oh doer of evil stop, for now is the time to stop evil. And Allah sets free a portion of his slaves from the fire of hell every single night.” Reported by Imam Tirmidhi 682.

These 10 days possess tremendous blessings and excellence. Therefore we should spend these blessed days and nights in intensive worship and virtuous acts, i.e. salawat (prayers), siyam (fasting), sadaqah (charity) and the Hajj (pilgrimage).

May Allah enable us to make the best of these 10 blessed days and make it a means of our success in this world and in the Hereafter. Ameen.

It is usual, on hearing of a death of a fellow Muslim, to recite the following Dua: Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un. (Indeed, to Allah we belong and to him is our final return).
