On 25 February, the world theatrical premiere of the documentary film “Beyond the Silk Road” took place in London at Vue Cinema Leicester Square.

The film was shot in the summer of 2025 with the participation of renowned British actor Dominic West and is dedicated to Kyrgyzstan — its majestic landscapes, rich history, distinctive culture and centuries-old nomadic traditions.

The documentary offers a compelling cinematic journey through the heart of Central Asia, conveying the vastness of its landscapes and the depth of its cultural heritage, while presenting a modern and authentic image of Kyrgyzstan to international audiences.

The premiere in London attracted strong interest from cultural and business communities. The film is scheduled for wide release later this year.

Dominic West is a BAFTA Award winner and a nominee for the Golden Globe and Emmy Awards, underscoring the international significance of the project.

The 4th meeting of the Kyrgyz-British Business Council was held in London 🇰🇬🇬🇧

The meeting confirmed that bilateral economic cooperation has moved into the practical stage of implementing concrete investment projects.

A key outcome is that construction of the plant of Concrete Canvas Ltd in the Kyrgyz Republic has officially commenced. The project involves localisation of the innovative concrete canvas technology, widely used for strengthening irrigation canals, transport and industrial infrastructure, as well as mining facilities.

The plant will create new jobs, ensure transfer of advanced British technologies, and expand export potential across Central Asia. It clearly demonstrates how business dialogue evolves into tangible industrial cooperation.

The meeting also focused on further deepening the Kyrgyz Republic’s integration into the London financial capital market, including mechanisms for attracting long-term financing and expanding cooperation with UK financial institutions.

In addition, prospects for cooperation in the field of critical minerals and the development of resilient supply chains were discussed.

The session reaffirmed the shared commitment to elevating Kyrgyz-British investment and financial partnership to a new qualitative level.

Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Kingdom (2022–2026)

I am completing my mission as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Kingdom.
My years in London have been a particularly important and substantive period of diplomatic service. During this time, significant efforts were undertaken to elevate Kyrgyz-British relations to a new level, support the Kyrgyz Republic’s entry into global financial capital markets through London as a leading international financial centre, expand investment, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, and increase the participation of Kyrgyz citizens in the UK seasonal agricultural workers programme.
Special attention was also devoted to strengthening political and economic dialogue between the United Kingdom and the countries of Central Asia, developing new cooperation formats, ministerial-level engagement and business platforms.
I sincerely thank all partners, friends and colleagues for their contribution to advancing Kyrgyz-British cooperation. I would also like to express particular gratitude to the united Kyrgyz diaspora in the United Kingdom for their support, solidarity and contribution to promoting our country.
During my farewell meetings, I had the honour to thank the UK Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps, Mr Alistair Harrison, for his constructive cooperation and support, and to receive a commemorative gift from Their Majesties The King and The Queen - an honour I deeply-.
I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to colleagues at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office for their professionalism, trusted partnership and productive cooperation throughout my mission.
I am confident that the friendship, trust and strategic partnership between the Kyrgyz Republic and the United Kingdom will continue to strengthen in the years ahead.
It has been the greatest honour of my life to serve the Kyrgyz Republic in the United Kingdom.

An Evening in Kyrgyzstan | London

On 27 January, an evening dedicated to Kyrgyzstan was held in London.
The programme featured a talk by Charles Moore, former Editor-in-Chief of The Spectator, with an introduction by renowned British actor Dominic West. Welcoming remarks were delivered by the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Kingdom.
The event was organised with the support of Alexandra Tolstoy, Honorary Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic for Tourism. Special appreciation was also expressed to Veronique Garrett for her meaningful humanitarian work in Kyrgyzstan.
The evening contributed to strengthening cultural dialogue and raising interest in Kyrgyzstan.

The publication underscores the growing interest of the global mining community in Kyrgyzstan’s potential and the new opportunities emerging within the partnership with the United Kingdom.

The delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic held a meeting with the leadership of Connex during its working visit to the United Kingdom. The discussions focused on cooperation in the field of critical minerals, advanced technologies for the mining sector, and opportunities to attract British investment into new industrial projects in Kyrgyzstan.
Both sides agreed to continue practical engagement and to develop concrete follow-up steps aimed at advancing potential joint projects.
