I'm not standing for election in the forthcoming Town Council election as I will be focussing my time in helping Reform prepare for the Senedd elections in May.
Can I again thank all the people who voted for me last time and ask you to consider voting for my worthy opponent, Owen Hammett-Johnson on 27th November.
Paul.
PAUL Turner - Standing Up For Magor West
With my family roots in Magor for over a centuary, and having lived here for 25 years myself, I'd like to put a bit more back.
Please cast your vote for me on the 11th September Town Council Election.
Votes have been cast and I didn't quite make it, but with almost 30% of the vote share I, and the Reform team, were pleased with that. It's a good indicator that Reform is building its strength in Monmouthshire and Wales.
So, a big thank you to all who took time to vote for me and to all the residents who very courteously interacted with me on the doorstep.
Commiserations to Owen Hammett-Johnson who came in second place and congratulations to Mike Boyland who takes the seat with about 38% of the vote. I am sure Mike and Owen will do all they can for the community, as will I.
Thank you again.
Paul Turner
So, today's the day! If you are a Magor West resident, and on the electoral register, please pop along to the Magor Baptist church polling station and cast your vote. Polling is open until 10 this evening.
I'll be at the count, and promise I will do my best to fulfill my pledges if I'm successful.
Thank you for your support.
Paul
Over the last 2 weeks, the team and I have been out on 6 occasions leafleting, giving postal-vote reminders and door-knocking to ask residents if they will be voting on Thursday, and if they will be giving me their vote!
We have managed to cover the whole area with leaflets and many residents have had a chat with me or one of the team.
I have to say the reception I have had has been, by and large, very positive which has been encouraging. We also took the opportunity, on one or two of the sessions, to ask people what their main concerns were that the Town Council ought to address. Some very interesting comments!
The team will be out again later today. Unfortunately illness prevents me from joining them but I hope to be fit for one more outing on Tuesday and the Vote and count on Thursday.
Many thanks to everyone who has engaged with me and to the Reform team for their support.
Paul Turner.
First stage of leafleting completed. Yesterday it was south of the railway - Whitewall, Magor Pill, Barecroft Common - and then over to Landevenny. Some great feedback and support over the last few days. 😀
An enjoyable few hours of leafleting yesterday, Blenheim, Kensington, Queens Gardens and St. Brides Rd areas completed. Today, we will be covering the Seymour vicinity, all areas off Redwick Rd and hopefully starting Whitewall. If you see us, say hello!
