Rotherhithe Liberal Democrats

Southwark Liberal Democrats are proud to announce our Rotherhithe Liberal Democrats team for Rotherhithe in May 2026: Vikas Aggarwal, Sorcha Ní Chonghaile and JK Doran.

They are already campaigning on the issues residents raise most often: securing genuinely affordable homes through the Canada Water masterplan, restoring a local police hub, and creating one-stop shops so residents can more easily access council services.

Vikas Aggarwal brings a background in national security, sustainability and supporting small businesses. He is a dedicated community volunteer at Salmon Youth Club and has been working to hold developers, Southwark Council and the Mayor of London to account to ensure the promised 35% affordable housing at Canada Water is delivered.

Sorcha Ní Chonghaile is an experienced Early Years and Special Educational Needs teacher currently completing a master’s in Education Public Policy. Having lived in Southwark’s social housing, she has first-hand experience of the borough’s failings as a landlord and is determined to fight for safe, secure and dignified homes.

JK Doran is a communications and engagement specialist and active community organiser. He founded his hometown’s first LGBTQIA+ Pride and is continuing to campaign for the return of a police hub in Rotherhithe to help tackle antisocial behaviour.

Together, our Rotherhithe team is working all year round for residents and ready to deliver even more as councillors.

With a career in helping small businesses, sustainability, and national security, Vikas Aggarwal is equally recognised for his tireless local work - volunteering at Salmon Youth Club in Bermondsey and with the London Fire Brigade, always standing up for people across South East London.

From classrooms to campaigns, Sorcha Ní Chonghaile brings her expertise as a primary teacher specialising in Early Years and SEN, alongside lived insight into Southwark’s housing challenges and a previous background in Irish and European politics.

And rounding us out, JK Doran is a community organiser, with a track record in delivering for local residents with Kingston Lib Dems. He founded a Pride movement in his hometown, and is interested in making sure that public infrastructure is accessible to everyone.
