The Official page of London's only Army Reserve Signal Regiment. We have part-time opportunities across London, Kent and Essex. WE ARE STILL RECRUITING!
We provide support to the British Army and are skilled in IT, Communications and Cyber. Who are we? We are London's only Army Reserve Signal Regiment and recruit across London, Essex and Kent. We are all trained soldiers and focus on delivering military communications and cyber skills. We are reservists which means that for most of us, this is not our full-time job and we do it in our own time. No
prior experience is required to join, and everything you do, you will get paid for! Where are we based?
- 265 Support Squadron, which is co-located with our Regimental Headquarters (RHQ), in Bexleyheath (Kent).
- 31 Signal Squadron, based in Uxbridge and Coulsdon (Greater London).
- 36 Signal Squadron, based in Colchester and Chelmsford (Essex).
- 68 Signal Squadron, based in Lincoln’s Inn and Whipps Cross (Central London). What job could you do?
- Communications Systems Operators. This is our core role. Working in a high-level headquarters facilitating comms, independently in a tight-knit, remote, detachment, or even on the frontlines with the infantry, there really are endless opportunities.
- Combat Medical Technicians (RAMC). You will learn advanced clinical/emergency medical skills, to be able to render assistance to those in need, be it in barracks, or out in the field.
- HR Specialists (AGC: SPS). Your administrative role will be key in facilitating the functions of the unit and enabling your fellow soldiers to be able to do their job.
- Communications Troop Commanders. This is an officer role. After passing officer selection and commissioning from the world-renowned RMA Sandhurst, you will be expected to provide leadership, management to a troop of up to 30 soldiers, right from the start of your career. What is the commitment? You will be expected to commit to a minimum of 27 days service per year; this can be broken down into drill nights, training weekends and a two week continuous training period, as well as completing a range of individual training requirements. How do I apply? Are you looking for a new challenge? To learn new skills, travel the world, help your community? Are you looking to see what you are really capable of, to serve your country, to make friends for life? So, why not join with the Army Reserve? If a sense of belonging, of pride, of purpose, is what you’re looking for, then look no further; excitement, confidence, personal and physical development is just part of what we offer. We welcome applications from both men and women aged between 18 - 52. You don’t have to be ultra-fit, and we will help develop you so that you feel confident to undertake training. We also welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds and pride ourselves on our inclusive culture as a Regiment - being based in the capital, we are exceptionally proud of how diverse our soldiers are, and can say that we really do represent the communities that we serve. Investing in people is investing in the future!
Over the past 10 months, seven of our reserve junior officers from across the Regiment have taken part in the first Worshipful Company of Drapers/71 Signal Regiment mentoring programme, benefiting from the experience and guidance of members of the Drapers.
Developing our junior officers is a key priority for the Regiment. This programme has provided invaluable opportunities for personal and professional growth in both their military and civilian careers.
A sincere thank you to the Drapers for their support and collaboration, and to every mentor who generously shared their time, experience and advice. The success of this first cohort has laid the foundations for what we hope will be a long and rewarding partnership for future officers of the Regiment.

Different backgrounds, different careers, different life stories...but loyalty in the army reserves means committing to your friends and your role even when time is tight.

In the army reserve, we come from different jobs, different backgrounds and have different life stories...but we serve as one team. Respect is what binds us and keeps us mission ready.
Discipline is balancing a career, family, friends and service. Our reservists train on limited time, push themselves further and show what commitment truly looks like…that’s discipline.
Courage isn’t about being fearless - it’s about having the physical and mental resilience to step forward even when life is busy, challenging or uncertain. Our Army Reservists choose courage every time they put on uniform.
