It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing the closure of Sophia Contemporary. We have been privileged and honoured to collaborate with a group of incredibly talented artists from around the world and become a part of their lives and careers. We would like to thank them first and foremost for their passion, dedication and trust. We are also very grateful to the collectors, curators, art advisors, journalists and to all our collaborators and followers, art professionals and art lovers alike, who have supported our gallery.
Unfortunately, it is becoming increasingly difficult for young and mid-sized galleries like Sophia Contemporary to develop and thrive in the current art market. After much deliberation, we have taken the difficult decision to close the gallery in order to explore other opportunities. We are looking forward to the next chapter in our lives and remain committed to helping our artists' careers develop in our future roles in the art world.

"London-based artist Jonathan Baldock works across multiple platforms including sculpture, installation and performance. With work often taking on a biographical form, he addresses the trauma, stress, sensuality, mortality, and spirituality around our relationship to the body and the space it inhabits." — (Camden Arts Centre, 2018)
