Report crime or make a complaint online at https://www.lincs.police.uk/ or call 101. We reserve the right to remove comments and block you if we feel you offend, intimidate, hurt, or deliberately provoke specific people or groups of people. We welcome open debate; we welcome free speech that allows you to articulate their opinions without fear of retaliation. But we do not welcome discourse from anyone who does not respect and live by those same principles. We live in a society where freedom of speech is a right, but if you abuse that right you can expect to be sanctioned. If anything you post tips the balance towards hate speech – this is defined as anything public that expresses hate or encourages violence towards a person or group based on something such as race, religion, age, s*x, nationality, ethnicity, disability, or s*xual orientation – or that post anything that threatens, incites, or encourages hatred or violence in any way, we may record this as a crime and investigate you in the same way we would as if this had happened on the street. Be aware of what you post, be mindful of how others may receive it, and, above all, be kind to one another. Thank you. 🚔 COMMUNITY SAFETY UPDATE

We have received a number of reports of people knocking on doors in the local area. While there may be a variety of reasons for these visits, we would like to take this opportunity to remind residents of a few simple steps to help keep themselves and their property safe.

🔹 Check before opening the door and only answer if you feel comfortable doing so.
🔹 Take your time when speaking to unexpected callers and never feel pressured into making decisions or purchases.
🔹 Keep your doors secure and avoid sharing personal or financial information with people you do not know.
🔹 Look out for one another, particularly older or vulnerable neighbours.

We encourage residents to report any suspicious activity or concerns to police, as this information can help us build a clearer picture of what is happening in the area.

If you have concerns about a non-emergency incident, please contact 101 or report online. In an emergency, where there is an immediate risk to life or a crime is in progress, call 999.

Thank you for helping us keep our community safe. Please share this advice with friends, family and neighbours. 💙

You may have seen police activity in Louth Market place this morning, which caused some traffic build up for a short while.
We received a number of reports from concerned members of public about a suspicious vehicle in Louth and officers from the local response team, neighbourhood team and roads policing team, were quickly in the area and located the vehicle and a male identified as the driver of this vehicle.
The male has been arrested for driving offences and follow up enquiries are on going to identify any further offences they may have been involved in.
The vehicle was also seized by police.

Thank you to the public who called this in and also those in Louth who assisted in pointing officers in the direction they had seen the male go in.

✅ A positive outcome for Louth Livestock Market

We received a much-appreciated note of thanks from a lady associated with the Livestock Market which read:

“Following a recent incident of vandalism at Louth Livestock Market, we would like to thank everyone in the local community who shared our original post and provided information, helping bring the matter to a positive conclusion.

“Thanks to their support and the work of the police, the individual responsible has been identified, has admitted their actions, and will repay the cost of the damage.

“A special thank you to PC Adam Manson for his excellent support throughout the investigation, and to his colleagues for their professionalism and commitment to our community.

“As Lincolnshire’s last remaining livestock market, Louth Livestock Market is an important part of our local agricultural heritage. We are proud to have helped secure its future and remain committed to supporting the next generation.

“Vandalism brings unnecessary costs and takes time and resources away from the work we do to support our businesses, customers and the wider community. We want young people to feel welcome, supported and able to thrive in our community, but damage to property is never acceptable.

“Thank you again to everyone who helped and to the officers involved. Your support means a great deal to us.

“We are proud of our market, proud of Louth and grateful to be part of a community that looks out for one another.”

💙 We would like to sincerely thank this lady for taking the time to write to us. Messages of support and appreciation such as this mean a great deal to our officers and staff and are always greatly valued. We would also like to extend our thanks to everyone who supported the investigation by sharing our appeal, helping us reach as many people as possible.

👮‍♂️ Inspiring the next generation of policing! 🚔

PC Ford and PCSO Owen from the Louth Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT), alongside Det Sgt Loyd from the Protecting Vulnerable Persons Unit, today attended the Upper School Careers Fair at King Edward VI Grammar School in Louth.

It was fantastic to meet so many pupils who showed a genuine interest in policing and the wide range of career opportunities available within the force.

The pupils asked some thoughtful, inquisitive questions about the different roles, the challenges officers face, and what a career in policing can offer. Their enthusiasm and curiosity made for some great conversations!

Policing offers a variety of career paths, each providing an opportunity to make a real difference in our communities and help protect those who need it most.

Who knows? Some of the pupils we spoke to may one day find that policing is more than just a career choice — it’s a calling! 👮‍♀️👮‍♂️

Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant Matt Neal explains how action against ASB can escalate to criminal charges and court appearances, with robust action being taken using this incremental approach across East Lindsey and the whole counthy.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with seven anti-social behaviour offences which took place across Skegness between 10-12 September.

The offences include criminal damage to a car and bus, multiple shop thefts and wasting police time.

He is due to appear at Lincoln Youth Court on 21 October for a plea hearing.

Four other teenagers were dealt with through out-of-court interventions, with two receiving warning letters and two entering into Acceptable Behaviour Agreements (ABAs).

The warning letters formally highlight the concerns raised about their behaviour and make clear that any further incidents may result in more serious action. The Acceptable Behaviour Agreements are voluntary contracts between the young people, their parents or guardians, and partner agencies, setting out clear expectations around their conduct and requiring them to stop behaviour that causes harassment, alarm or distress to others.

These measures are designed to address issues at an early stage, encourage positive behaviour, and help prevent further incidents, while providing reassurance to local residents that action is being taken to improve the safety and quality of life within the community. Failure to comply with these interventions may lead to more robust enforcement action, including an incremental approach which may lead to prosecution for any offences committed, and applications for court orders where necessary to protect local residents and businesses.

🗣️ Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant Matt Neal said: "Anti-social behaviour can have a real impact on people’s quality of life, causing distress to residents, businesses and visitors, and that is why we take reports of this nature extremely seriously.

"We work closely with partners, including Futures4Me and children’s services, to engage with young people and address the underlying causes of their behaviour. Wherever possible, our focus is on early intervention and preventing offending from escalating.

"However, when those opportunities are not taken and offences continue, we will always pursue those responsible where there is sufficient evidence to do so. The charges brought in this case demonstrate our determination to hold offenders accountable for their actions.

"We understand the frustration and concern incidents like these can cause within the community, and I want to reassure residents that we will continue to work proactively with our partners to tackle anti-social behaviour, support those affected, and help ensure Skegness, East Lindsey, and the wider county remains a safe and welcoming place for everyone."

⚠️ ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR – A FURTHER MESSAGE TO PARENTS AND GUARDIANS

Following our previous post regarding the ongoing anti-social behaviour involving a group of youths using pushbikes and e-scooters in Louth town centre, the behaviour has continued and is becoming increasingly unacceptable.

We have received reports of youths entering Morrisons Store in large numbers, riding bikes around inside the premises, running through the store and causing disruption before leaving.
There are also ongoing reports of youths congregating in the marketplace, shouting, swearing and behaving in a manner that is intimidating and unacceptable to other members of the community, and also banging on doors forcefully, to the extent damage is caused.

Let us be absolutely clear:

THIS BEHAVIOUR WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

Officers are actively taking action against those involved. We are identifying individuals, gathering evidence and working with our partner agencies to ensure that appropriate action is taken and we have put on dedicated hot spot patrols for the town centre to try and tackle this behaviour

A number of young people involved have already been issued with ASB warnings. Despite this, the behaviour is continuing.
We are now approaching the point where some of those involved may start face criminal action.

PARENTS AND GUARDIANS – THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO INTERVENE.

You may know your child is out with this group. You may know who they are associating with. You may already have an idea that they are involved in some of this behaviour.
Please do not assume that your child is simply "hanging around" and isn't involved.
Being part of a group where criminal or anti-social behaviour is taking place does not make the behaviour acceptable.
We are asking parents and guardians to take responsibility and take positive action now.
Know where your children are. Know who they are with. Speak to them about their behaviour and make it clear that involvement in this type of activity will have consequences.
We would much rather prevent a young person from becoming involved in the criminal justice system than have to take enforcement action against them.

However, if this behaviour continues, we will take action.

There will come a point where warnings are no longer appropriate and enforcement action will follow.
If your child has recently received an ASB warning letter, please take it seriously. It is an opportunity for you to intervene before their behaviour escalates further.
Parents and guardians: please speak to your children tonight and look at parental controls YOU can put in place to prevent your child being responsible for causing misery to others.

Help us prevent them from making decisions now that could have consequences for them, their families and their future.

If you are a concerned parent/guardian and wish to discuss this please feel free to email [email protected] with your details and we will be in contact

Officers are investigating an incident in the Sherwood Fields area of Mablethorpe on Saturday 26 September. It's believed it may have involved teenagers from Mablethorpe, Louth and surrounding areas. Can you help?

🚨 APPEAL for information: ASB Sherwood Fields area of Mablethorpe

We understand that incidents of anti-social behaviour are causing concern for the local community of Mablethorpe and beyond, and we are taking reports of this intimidating and unlawful behaviour extremely seriously.

We were called at 8.31pm on Saturday 26 September to a disturbance in The Sherwood Fields area. It was reported that a group of around 20 teenagers were allegedly drinking in the area, throwing glass into the road and at passing cars.

When officers attended, a number of individuals were identified and a 16-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer, making threats to kill and public order offences. The teen has been released under investigation. Further offences linked to the incident are also being investigated.

While officers were dealing with the arrest, a larger group gathered nearby. Some were reported to be drunk, abusive and obstructive towards officers carrying out their duties. A number were also seen wearing balaclavas and riding suspected illegally modified e-bikes. Officers reported that some riders deliberately attempted to intimidate officers and disrupt their work by wheel spinning the bikes in front of them in an attempt to cover people in mud.

This behaviour is completely unacceptable. Residents, visitors, and businesses should not feel intimidated in their own community, nor should officers face hostility while carrying out their duties to keep people safe.

We are committed to identifying those involved and will use all available investigative opportunities to establish who was responsible.

As part of our Lincs 2030 transformation programme, we're proactively tackling anti-social behaviour and issues that matter most to communities, with a focus on structured problem solving that tackles issues early. This is done in collaboration with partner agencies and with a philosophy of prevention at the core. Preventing crime starts long before offences are committed. That is why a significant part of our crime prevention strategy focuses on working with young people, challenging negative behaviours, and supporting them to make responsible decisions.

Where offences are identified, we will take robust action to work with schools and partner agencies to consider appropriate interventions to prevent further offending and anti-social behaviour.

We believe those involved in this incident were from Mablethorpe, Louth, and surrounding areas. We would ask parents and guardians to speak with young people about their whereabouts, the risks associated with alcohol consumption, and the consequences that anti-social and criminal behaviour can have on victims, the wider community, and their own futures.

🗣️ Investigating officer PC Craig Hobson said: "We know incidents like this can have a significant impact on how safe people feel in their community. Let me be clear: this was not harmless fun. The behaviour reported was dangerous, intimidating, and disruptive, and we are determined to identify those responsible to put in place relevant interventions with partner agencies.

"We are appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened, captured footage on mobile phones, CCTV, dashcam or doorbell cameras, or who has information about those involved, to get in touch. Even the smallest detail could assist our inquiries."

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact us either via email: [email protected], quoting ‘Incident 440 of 26 September’ in the subject line, by calling 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
