🍻Oktoberfest 2026 🍻

If there was ever a test of Lyme Regis' party spirit, Oktoberfest 2026 was it.

With two named storms sweeping through the region over the weekend, conditions were far from ideal for the annual event at Lyme Regis Brewery.

But that didn't stop people turning out in their dozens to support the brewery's weekend of free live music.

Can you spot yourselves in the photos?

The High Sheriff of Dorset, Dr Helena Conibear's 216-mile walk of the county border was brought to a close at the Boat Building Academy yesterday.

Dr Helena Conibear's challenge began in Charmouth in June and took her through communities across the county, raising awareness of county lines exploitation and the risks facing vulnerable children and young people.

For the final leg from Lambert's Castle to Lyme Regis, she was joined by deputy mayor Cllr Adrian Wood, deputy mayoress Debbie Wood and town council communications officer Cara Austin.

On their way through town, the walkers were welcomed by The Town Mill before continuing on to the Boat Building Academy, where a reception marked the completion of the challenge.

Guests heard speeches from His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Dorset, Professor Michael Dooley, Dorset police and crime commissioner David Sidwick, and Helena herself.

A performance by local youth music charity B Sharp was also part of the celebrations.

Lyme Regis Town Council would like to thank the Boat Building Academy for generously hosting the celebration, the Town Mill for welcoming the walkers, B Sharp for its contribution to the event, Jayne Hutchings for providing the catering and Dorset Tea for the much-needed hot cups of tea after the final nine-mile stretch in all weathers.

Congratulations also go to Helena and everyone who walked alongside her, supported the challenge and helped bring its important message to communities across the county.
In total, Helena walked 500,000 steps with over 300 people aged six to 95 and raised nearly ÂŁ20,000.
