π Project Update: The Jaguar Mark V π
We're making fantastic progress on our Jaguar restoration. The car has been stripped to the bare metal, with extensive welding and chassis work now complete. All wings, doors, and bonnet and boot panels were painted separately while off the car. Meanwhile, the engine is being expertly rebuilt by a vintage Jaguar specialist in Crawshawbooth, Rossendale.
All interior wood cappings have been beautifully re-veneered and restored by our volunteer, Eddie. Work on the interior seats is up next, the leather of which needs deeply nourishing along with all the interior door cards. After that, it'll be on to chrome work.
A massive thank you must go to Billy Butler, who is project managing this entire build on a voluntary basis, as well as handling the prep and paintwork free of charge.
The level of community support and interest this project has generated has been truly overwhelming. It is shaping up to be an incredible achievement that everyone involved can be immensely proud of.
π§ Can You Help?
We're currently looking for a retired or volunteer auto-electrician to donate some of their time to the project. If you are interested, the car is currently located at our workshops in Haslingden (some travel may be needed initially). Please get in touch!
