Report crime or make a complaint online at https://www.lincs.police.uk/ or call 101. We reserve the right to remove comments and block you if we feel you offend, intimidate, hurt, or deliberately provoke specific people or groups of people. We welcome open debate; we welcome free speech that allows you to articulate their opinions without fear of retaliation. But we do not welcome discourse from anyone who does not respect and live by those same principles. We live in a society where freedom of speech is a right, but if you abuse that right you can expect to be sanctioned. If anything you post tips the balance towards hate speech – this is defined as anything public that expresses hate or encourages violence towards a person or group based on something such as race, religion, age, s*x, nationality, ethnicity, disability, or s*xual orientation – or that post anything that threatens, incites, or encourages hatred or violence in any way, we may record this as a crime and investigate you in the same way we would as if this had happened on the street. Be aware of what you post, be mindful of how others may receive it, and, above all, be kind to one another. 🏆 Mablethorpe’s NexGen Magna Programme awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in national ukactive awards

Staff from Mablethorpe Policing Team joined colleagues from Magna Vitae’s Station Leisure & Learning Centre at national awards ceremony.

Last week (Thursday 8 October), staff from the Mablethorpe Policing Team joined colleagues from Magna Vitae's Station Leisure & Learning Centre at the prestigious ukactive awards ceremony where the NexGen Magna Programme has been awarded ‘Highly Commended’, taking second place nationally in the Educational Programme of the year category.

The NexGen Programme supports young people aged 11 to 17 in Mablethorpe, helping them develop valuable life skills, build confidence, and enjoy the benefits of active, healthy lifestyles. Encouraging young people to stay active not only supports their physical health and wellbeing, but also helps build resilience, positive relationships and the confidence needed to thrive both now and in the future.

Its success demonstrates the powerful impact that can be achieved when organisations work together to invest in young people, creating opportunities that not only improve health and wellbeing but also help them reach their full potential.

👏 This national recognition is a fantastic achievement for everyone involved. Congratulations to the dedicated staff, volunteers and partner organisations who make the programme possible, and most importantly to the young people whose enthusiasm and commitment continue to drive its success.

It is a remarkable accomplishment and one that the whole community can be incredibly proud of. What a fantastic achievement for Mablethorpe and a shining example of the difference that investing in young people's health, wellbeing and futures can make.

Again last night we have received reports of a group of teenagers causing a disturbance within one of Mablethorpe's arcades.

The behaviour reported includes intimidating members of staff, riding bicycles through the arcade, and wearing balaclavas in an apparent attempt to conceal their identities.
This type of behaviour is completely unacceptable and has a significant impact on businesses, employees, customers, and the wider community.

No one should feel intimidated or threatened while at work, and local businesses have the right to operate without fear of disruption or anti-social behaviour.
Staff should not have to deal with abuse, intimidation, or individuals creating an environment that makes customers feel unsafe.

We would ask parents and guardians to speak with their children about their behaviour when out in the community. Actions that may be seen as "having a laugh" can cause genuine distress to others and damage the reputation of the vast majority of young people who behave responsibly.

We are actively engaging with businesses and reviewing available CCTV opportunities.
Those involved should be aware that attempts to hide their identity do not prevent enquiries from being carried out.

If you witness anti-social behaviour or have information that may assist, please report it to us.
Working together, we can help ensure Mablethorpe remains a safe and welcoming place for residents, visitors, and businesses alike.

It is extremely disappointing to report that last night emergency services in Mablethorpe received a number of hoax calls made by teenagers using the public telephone kiosk in the town.

While some may see this as a prank or harmless fun, every hoax call has the potential to divert police, fire and ambulance resources away from genuine emergencies where someone may be in real danger and in urgent need of help.

We would ask parents and guardians to have a conversation with their children about the serious consequences of this behaviour. Misuse of the emergency services is not a joke.
It wastes valuable public resources, places additional pressure on already stretched services, and could ultimately delay help reaching someone whose life is at risk.

The telephone kiosk and surrounding area are covered by CCTV, and enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible.

Please help us reinforce the message that emergency numbers should only ever be used when there is a genuine need for assistance.
Working together, we can ensure emergency services remain available for those who truly need them.

Thank you to the members of the public who continue to support and respect our emergency services.

Officers are appealing for information following an incident in the Sherwood Fields area of Mablethorpe on Saturday 26 September. Can you help?

🚨 APPEAL for information: ASB Sherwood Fields area of Mablethorpe

We understand that incidents of anti-social behaviour are causing concern for the local community of Mablethorpe and beyond, and we are taking reports of this intimidating and unlawful behaviour extremely seriously.

We were called at 8.31pm on Saturday 26 September to a disturbance in The Sherwood Fields area. It was reported that a group of around 20 teenagers were allegedly drinking in the area, throwing glass into the road and at passing cars.

When officers attended, a number of individuals were identified and a 16-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer, making threats to kill and public order offences. The teen has been released under investigation. Further offences linked to the incident are also being investigated.

While officers were dealing with the arrest, a larger group gathered nearby. Some were reported to be drunk, abusive and obstructive towards officers carrying out their duties. A number were also seen wearing balaclavas and riding suspected illegally modified e-bikes. Officers reported that some riders deliberately attempted to intimidate officers and disrupt their work by wheel spinning the bikes in front of them in an attempt to cover people in mud.

This behaviour is completely unacceptable. Residents, visitors, and businesses should not feel intimidated in their own community, nor should officers face hostility while carrying out their duties to keep people safe.

We are committed to identifying those involved and will use all available investigative opportunities to establish who was responsible.

As part of our Lincs 2030 transformation programme, we're proactively tackling anti-social behaviour and issues that matter most to communities, with a focus on structured problem solving that tackles issues early. This is done in collaboration with partner agencies and with a philosophy of prevention at the core. Preventing crime starts long before offences are committed. That is why a significant part of our crime prevention strategy focuses on working with young people, challenging negative behaviours, and supporting them to make responsible decisions.

Where offences are identified, we will take robust action to work with schools and partner agencies to consider appropriate interventions to prevent further offending and anti-social behaviour.

We believe those involved in this incident were from Mablethorpe, Louth, and surrounding areas. We would ask parents and guardians to speak with young people about their whereabouts, the risks associated with alcohol consumption, and the consequences that anti-social and criminal behaviour can have on victims, the wider community, and their own futures.

🗣️ Investigating officer PC Craig Hobson said: "We know incidents like this can have a significant impact on how safe people feel in their community. Let me be clear: this was not harmless fun. The behaviour reported was dangerous, intimidating, and disruptive, and we are determined to identify those responsible to put in place relevant interventions with partner agencies.

"We are appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened, captured footage on mobile phones, CCTV, dashcam or doorbell cameras, or who has information about those involved, to get in touch. Even the smallest detail could assist our inquiries."

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact us either via email: [email protected], quoting ‘Incident 440 of 26 September’ in the subject line, by calling 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

☀️🏖️ Beach Safety – Enjoy the Coast, Stay Safe This Summer 🏖️☀️

A day at the beach should be fun, relaxing and memorable for all the right reasons. Whether you're visiting Mablethorpe for the first time or you're a regular visitor, taking a few simple precautions can help keep you and your family safe.

🌊 Top Beach Safety Tips ✅ Swim at lifeguarded beaches whenever possible
✅ Swim between the red and yellow flags where lifeguards are present
✅ Check the weather, tides and sea conditions before entering the water
✅ Never use inflatable toys in the sea
✅ Keep children under close supervision at all times
✅ Avoid swimming alone
✅ If you're in trouble in the water, remember to Float to Live – tilt your head back, relax and control your breathing

🏖️ Planning for a Family Day Out?

Large crowds can make it easy for children to become separated from parents or carers. That's why we're encouraging families to take advantage of the Sandi Starfish wristbands available locally.
⭐ Sandi Starfish Wristbands Simply write a contact number on the wristband and place it on your child before heading onto the beach. If they become lost, it makes it much easier for staff, partners and emergency services to reunite them with their family quickly.
🚩 Know Your Nearest Meeting Point Flag When you arrive at the beach, take a moment to identify the nearest numbered meeting point flag. If someone becomes separated, agreeing a meeting point in advance can save valuable time and reduce worry.
These flags can also help emergency services, lifeguards and coastguard teams locate you quickly should assistance be needed.

🤝 Working Together – The Atlantis Alliance brings together organisations and partners from across the Lincolnshire coast to help create a safer and more enjoyable environment for residents and visitors. By working collaboratively on community safety, lost children initiatives, water safety awareness and public engagement, we aim to make our coastline a welcoming and safe place for everyone.
❤️ Remember ✔️ Stay hydrated
✔️ Protect yourself from the sun with sunscreen, hats and shade
✔️ Keep valuables secure and never leave them unattended
✔️ Respect the sea – conditions can change quickly

If you see someone in danger at the coast, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

Let's work together to ensure everyone enjoys a safe and enjoyable summer on the Lincolnshire coast.
