Bat Walk - Spaces still available.

Just a quick note to let you know there are still spaces available for the Bat Walk this week (Tuesday 26th May at 21:20)

Taking part | BTO 24/05/2026

We have been contacted regarding the BTO (Birds Science People) with an activity pack for the current 'Birds In Greenspaces' project that they are running from April to June.

All this entails is a poster with a QR code going up at various places with some additional bird species identifying postcards going up in too whereby participants can scan the QR code and register which birds they have seen or heard whilst out and about.
There is also a little check list if people want to compile their own results thoroughly!

QR codes can be found in the lecterns at the Lightbowne Road entrance, near the playground, (along with a perspex box with the survey sheets / checklists in) and another at the St. Mary's Road entrance next to St Mary's Care home (Alex Ian Brothers).

Given it's Nature Reserve status, this could be a good free activity to do with your kids (or general family/friends) during the upcoming May half-term break.
