On international workers day celebration (organised by ) we marched along Palestine bloc together with comrades, trade unionists, youth groups, working class political organisations! A significant day to honour our deepest roots: solidarity, humanity, and class struggle, and the collective work to build a better world.

In the meeting in the historic Mechanics’ Institute we heard from achievements of trade unions and listen to the working class songs of struggle for liberation and heard from the history of Palestinian resistance shared by the pains and sacrifices of Palestinian workers and freedom fighters. Also heard from the vital works migrants workers in the UK and the hostile environment we face, our anti-fascist duties, and anti-imperialist stance concerning Iran, Cuba and other nations under attack!

We shared RRC’s vision of internationalism in class solidarity when imperialist wars are devouring the lives and livelihoods of masses in the global south; and on the meanings of working-class achievements in Iran and how interconnected our achievements and challenges are with what we experience in the global north.
We honoured all the workers in Iran who despite imperialist wars, extreme economic harshness and grievances, social unrest and political violence showed unbelievable courage and comradeship in solidarity and belonging countering extreme fragmentation, alienation, and destruction imposed by the hybrid US-zionist attacks on our society…From frontline responders in civil defence (fire-fighters, rescue & health workers, etc) to journalists, teachers, engineers, workers in strategic factories who defended their works and communities to the last minute under ongoing viscous air-raids.
We discussed the interconnected impact of imperialist wars and late capitalism on Iranian workers as well as British masses who also face inflation and recession while the UK ruling class participate in yet another aggression and criminal war on global south!
Our freedoms to Organise and to challenge bosses and rulers are our greatest achievements and responsibility to stand united against war and deal with the main enemy, here, in the imperial core.

We will join the Palestine Bloc for Manchester’s international workers’ day march.
Sunday, 3rd of May, 11 AM. Holt Town Tram Stop M40 7FQ

Palestine is the frontline of the international struggle against global capitalism, imperialist aggression, and colonial occupation! Palestinian cause is therefore the core of international class struggle and emancipation of subalterns!

After the march we’ll be at the social event at the Mechanics Institute to discuss the conditions of Iranian working class, resistance and solidarity in the face of US-Zionist reckless bombardment and economic warfare against Iran.
Hundreds of Thousands of jobs have been totally destroyed as a result of US-Zionist deliberate bombardment of Iran’s infrastructure. The cost of war-related damage has been estimated at around $300 billion by mid April and likely to be much higher. The ongoing military-economic hybrid pressure further threatens the livelihood, jobs, and the labour movements of working class for rights and liberation of workers in Iran.
The prolonged wartime conditions, a fragile and uncertain ceasefire, and the suffocating naval blockade imposed on Iranian ports by the U.S. army have led to unprecedented inflation plunging the lives and well-being of the masses into a state of endless anxiety.
We know that the UK is part of the regime of economic sanctions on Iran’s economy as well as military support for US-Israeli illegal war on Iran— the class unity demands abolition of wars and sanctions on periphery countries; the abolition of imperial sanctions, by the workers and for the workers!

The workers in Iran— from precarious labourers to port workers and those in the oil and petrochemical sectors— are bearing the highest burden of US-Zionist violations and losses of normalcy in their already reduced abilities to work, produce and socially reproduce.
Iranian workers, therefore, fight to defend the country’s infrastructure and to protect their rights against the neoliberal order, imposed poverty and all forms of exploitation and dispossession.
Join us in solidarity and resistance in Manchester’s International Workers day 🚩
(Sunday-3rd of May)

Revisiting our roots of solidarity and resistance we gathered in our community of comradeship and trust ()…to extend our hands of solidarity to Lebanon where our friends organise a powerful collective of mutual aids and to Iran where tens of thousands of homes have been destroyed. Under siege, sanctions and blockade millions of jobs have vanished and in lack of access to internet many independent homerun businesses face extreme crises.
Lebanon and Iran are inseparable in their fate and resistance just as Palestine is the heart of our region and our world. We are glad to be part of a bright night of solidarity, poetry, music, reflection, mutual aid, food, art, embroidery and stories from across communities which are so brutally erased from regimes of representation and recognition; undocumented children in Iran who resist marginalisation through their native art and grassroots communities, suburbs of Beirut and southern villages of Lebanon, which are the frontlines facing Zionist aggression and western dehumanisation, and 168 little children of the city of Minab, Shajar-ye Teyyebeh school, who were not only slaughtered along with their teachers by the U.S. direct missile strike in a so called “double tap” war crime, but also erased and censored by those who claim “freedom” through imperial manipulation of lives and livelihood of the subaltern communities in our homelands.

We commemorate all of them with our local communities and continue to reflect on the lives of great women like the Lebanese martyr of truth -Amal Khalil- and Iranian nurses who were saving as many newborn infants as they could while their hospital was collapsing under the heavy bombardment of the Israeli genociders.
We listened to lively folk music by great as well as songs of resistance from Palestine, Lebanon and Iran and are determined to use such moments of solidarity to make our connections stronger and to continue to defy dehumanisation and idolisation as our peoples face intensification of imperialist aggressions.

Solidarity from Manchester to Lebanon, Palestine and Iran!

🔻!Long live our regional resistance, unity, and shared struggle for sovereignty and self-determination!🔻

We’re inspired by our comrades in Iran who provided the clearest direction possible for us: not to be divided by differences, and to be explicit, inclusive, and consistent against imperialist war on Iran and genocide in Gaza! To hold Palestinian resistance as our compass and to resist demonisation of Iran by Zionist-imperialist thugs and their hybrid wars!

We’re grateful to have the solidarity of our comrades who stood unwaveringly with Iran, and showed their support for anti-war cause, especially from:

.f.f.p and comrades in who showed incredible support, community defence, and care in the most difficult hours our homeland, friends and families faced in Iran while we faced fascist-zionists marches of hate and self-destruction here in Manchester!

Down with Zionism
Down with imperialism
Rally around the Resistance…until Liberation!

JOIN US IN MANCHESTER EMERGENCY DEMO FOR IRAN, WEDNESDAY APRIL THE 8TH, ST PERER’s SQUARE, 6PM.

US imperialism, alongside the genocidal Zionist regime, has set its sights on destroying Iran’s civilisation.
Popular resistance in Iran has, with incredible courage, organised human chains around the country’s vital infrastructure.
The voice and call of our comrades from Iran is clearer than ever: do not leave the streets empty! Be the voice of Iranians! Despite death and destruction, we in Iran have no option of despair or of being divided by differences. Build the anti-war movement today wherever you are.
The fate of Iran and Palestine is intertwined. Stand united in defence of sovereignty and self-determination for West Asia, and put an end to the war crimes and genocide of Zionist-imperialist aggressors.
The time for resistance is now.

From our statements:
a message from Iran, by a comrade, a teacher and community organiser, addressing us at this demonstration :
“Last winter, we heard that an infant in Gaza went into cardiac arrest due to the cold. We felt that suffering was distant from us. Until a few nights ago, when Tiara Sadeghi, in an airstrike on city of Yazd, lost her small heart to the powerful shockwaves of an explosion.
We asked ourselves: what does it mean for a child’s heart to stop? And we remembered the children of Gaza.
Our children too, like the children of Gaza, were killed in schools. In the very first moments of the war alone, two hundred children were torn apart, and parts of their bodies were found far from the site of the explosion. The dismembered body of their teacher was never found. And from those very first moments, these crimes were sold to the world under the name of “human shields.” […]
We are bewildered that Eurocentric values and the security order of the West have become so normalised among some activists that anti-war cries and support for the defence of one’s homeland cannot rise loudly enough. And yet, we know the histories of Libya, Iraq, and Syria. Do we not?
We know that speaking of our suffering, alliances, and our struggles is untranslatable, within the western human rights frameworks! that’s how we know that Palestine is our political home. Gaza was not an exception; all indigenous and oppressed nations who dreamed of building a new order in their lands have understood this well.
Comrades! Imperialist lies are a body of knowledge, theory, and practice built upon killing—exposing this, especially in these times, is a revolutionary act.
Build the anti-war movement in your environment!
We in Iran do not have the choice of hopelessness or being distracted by differences!
So we need a solidarity that recognises the urgency and the existential significance of this violence.

Long live the resistance in Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan and Iran”

🚩 EMERGENCY DEMO - HANDS OFF IRAN - 12PM SUN 29/03 - [Adnan Al-Bursh Park: M13 9PL]✊

🇵🇸 🇱🇧 Long live Palestine, Lebanon and Sudan! 🇸🇩 🚩
Red Roots Collective and international allies call on people of conscience across Manchester to rise-up against the enemy: imperialism.
The USA and Zionist entity have expanded their imperialist aggression. Not satisfied with perpetrating the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people, they have begun to ethnically cleanse Lebanon whilst waging a war of imperialist aggression against Iran and our people that, with the same genocidal logic, targets schools, hospitals and homes. The US does this to assert its power on a global stage whilst the Zionist entity does it to expand its territory in the region. The UK government follows the US, desperate to be seen as an ally of genocidal imperialists.
Starmer welcomes the US military planes at British airbases whilst trying to hide these crimes from the public. Our taxes support this aggression and our government continues to sell arms to the Zionist entity.
These imperialists are the enemy of freedom and we live in the belly of the imperialist beast. We must fight it from within!
From the bombing and sanctions of Iran and Venezuela to the blockade on Cuba to the genocides in Palestine, Sudan and the Congo, imperialism casts its long and dark shadow over today.
Together we rise up and say FROM THE BELLY OF THE BEAST: HANDS OFF IRAN! FREE PALESTINE! LONG LIVE CUBA, CONGO, LEBANON, SUDAN, VENEZUELA! THE FREE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD RISE UP!
Join us to march against genocide, against imperialism, against war, genocide, and criminal regime of siege, sanction, and blockade imposed on the global south!

Excerpt from our statement:
Amongst the complicits and partners of crimes, we recognise the spineless UK’s prime minister who shamelessly announced the deployment of further fighter jets and killing machines to participate in the catastrophic bloodshed against our homeland. The UK is directly involved in these war crimes and it’s on us to fight against the injustice done by this imperial regime.
We demand investigation into the criminal nature of the military campaign against our country and the illegal participation of the UK’s government !

No matter how critical of the Iranian state (and the domestic oppression) one is, “israel” and the US terrorists have no right to kill any Iranian, in any position, on our soil. So we are enraged and seek justice and revenge for our people and our sovereignty!
We are an independent, socialist-feminist Iranian voice against the single biggest threat to humanity and peace which is the axis of empire and its most criminal elements, Israel and the US— currently in a destructive campaign against our homeland. Women in Iran in particular marginalised communities who have been resisting patriarchy and oppression for many years now see their future and autonomy more violated than ever.

We refuse any narrative that divides our people into good and bad casualties, we refuse any justification for the killing of those who are defending Iran against this bloody assault. And We refuse the normalisation of this colonial aggression and interference unequevocally.
The aggressors’ only agenda is to kill as many indigenous people as they can so that the theft of peoples’ resources becomes easier, our primary enemy, therefore, is the demonically religious ideology of Zionism and Imperialism.

Context: The views shared here were expressed by our comrades in Iran in the first hours after they regained access to the internet (from different cities). They want our allies to hear them.
Please read with care and share if you can.

Statement:
Red roots collective condemns the brutal repression and massacre of Iranian protesters, and expresses deep concern for the wellbeing of the thousands arrested during these protests—many of them teenagers and children—for which responsibility lies solely with the Islamic Republic.

We firmly reject imperialist sanctions and condemn the threats of war against Iran.
We continue to echo the voices of liberation, resistance, and independence from Iran, and we call on our allies abroad to echo their solidarity with our comrades inside the country—who are enduring shock, trauma, and mourning.
