This year's mental health awareness week theme is Take ACTION, because even small actions can make a big difference to mental health and wellbeing. 🧠

Through the work we do every day, we recognise that different people need different types of support, and sometimes the hardest part is simply knowing where to start.

Here are just a few organisations offering support, advice, and resources:
💬 Samaritans – 116 123
📱 Shout – Text 85258
🧠 Mind – mind.org.uk
👥 Andys Man Club – andysmanclub.co.uk
🪵 UK Men's Sheds Association – menssheds.org.uk
📍 Chasing The Stigma Hub of Hope – hubofhope.co.uk

Taking action can be as simple as reaching out, checking in, or sharing support with someone who may need it.

You are never alone, and support is always available. 💚

Tag more charities and organisations below! Let this post be a directory of support for all those who need it!

We’re incredibly proud to have raised over £1,000 for Andys Man Club through the amazing efforts of our staff and supporters.

Andy’s Man Club provides free peer-to-peer support groups for men across the UK, with over 6,700 men attending sessions every Monday night.

Chris Kelly, Area Lead for Greater Manchester and East Lancashire, told us:
“Donations like this make a real difference. They help us keep our doors open to over 350 clubs across the UK, supporting thousands of men every week.”

Over the past 12 months alone, donations like ours and many others have helped Andy’s Man Club open 80 new clubs nationwide, ensuring more men can access support when they need it most.

Thank you to everyone who donated, fundraised, and supported such an important cause 💚

That’s why our staff have access to benefits through Simplyhealth and Vivup, including 24/7 GP access, counselling support, wellbeing resources, financial wellbeing support, and everyday discounts to help your money go further.

Even small actions can make a big difference, and when we support each other, those actions become even more powerful.

Sunshine, teamwork, and a little bit of gardening magic! 🌞🌱

Our staff and young people have been making the most of the beautiful weather by transforming their outdoor space!

Together, they tidied up the planters and planted flowers, along with seeds for onions, carrots, peppers, rocket, and strawberries!

It’s been a brilliant way to build teamwork, boost wellbeing, and create a space everyone can feel proud of.

And of course… it wouldn’t be complete without coffee and cake at the end ☕🍰

Easter may be over, but we’re taking a moment to look back at the activities across Manchester and Leeds! 🐣

In Manchester, the Easter Fun Day brought together creative challenges, team games and friendly competition, with young people getting fully involved and even stepping forward to be part of interview panels, helping shape the future of their services!

Over in Leeds, a scavenger hunt across the trainer flats kept everyone on their toes, with hidden eggs containing everything from practical essentials to fun prizes (and a few sour forfeits thrown in for good measure). 🪺

Hearing directly from young people made it even more worthwhile:
“Really good games!”
“I had fun, I really enjoyed the day!”
“I always enjoy these events!”

A huge thank you to all staff who organised and supported these activities 👏

After hearing the plans last week, a group of 10 young people and staff have now taken on the walk up Moel Famau. ⛰️

What started as a plan quickly turned into an amazing day out, with everyone getting stuck in, supporting each other and pushing through the tougher parts of the climb.

Reaching the top was a standout moment. Plenty of smiles, a well-earned rest and time to take in the lovely weather and views after all the effort it took to get there. ☀️

It was especially good to see confidence grow along the way, particularly for those who weren’t sure at the start if they’d make it.

One young person summed it up best: “I really enjoyed it! The view was amazing!” 🗣

A big thank you to the staff involved for organising the day and for the support and encouragement they continue to give the young people within our services to help them achieve new heights like this!

Last week, we visited The Reader at Calderstones Park with a group of young people and staff. 🌱

It was great to see the people we support engaging so positively, working alongside garden volunteers, building confidence and contributing to something meaningful within the local community.

One young person enjoyed the experience so much that they chose to stay on for the afternoon, which really speaks to the welcoming environment created on the day.

Opportunities like this play an important role in developing independence, confidence and a sense of belonging, and they only happen because of the continued effort and dedication of our teams.

At the time, there were already plans being discussed for a walk up Moel Famau… and we can confirm those plans have now come to life. Keep an eye out on our socials for what they got up to next week! ⛰️

Last week, the Easter Bunny (aka our very own Tom Benton) made some special visits to young people we support, delivering Easter eggs and plenty of laughs! 🐰💐

The reactions said it all, lots of smiles, a few surprises, and young people absolutely made up with their eggs.

The Easter Bunny didn’t stop there either… there was even a visit to the office to spread a bit of Easter cheer with staff too!

A small gesture that went a long way in brightening people’s week! 💙

We hope everyone who celebrated had a lovely Easter weekend! 🐣

We recently welcomed 18 young people to our Liverpool office to celebrate Eid together, creating a space to connect, share food and celebrate with one another. 🌙

From homemade cakes prepared by our team to henna art, it was a thoughtful celebration shaped by both staff and the people we support.

The engagement from the young people was extremely positive, reinforcing the value of creating opportunities like this that support inclusion, cultural awareness and emotional wellbeing!

A big thank you to our Liverpool Separated Children’s Team for making it happen and supporting young people to be part of the day. 💙
