Founded in 1999, Bedspace is an organisation guided on the principle of transforming the lives of vulnerable young people.

We are based in Manchester, Liverpool, Preston & Leeds; providing a range of accommodation to suit the needs of our service users.

Learning doesn't stop when college breaks up! 📚

Over the summer, our Separated Children Team helped young people stay active, engaged and motivated through a range of activities, including conversational ESOL sessions, Arts and Crafts and Games Day! 🎨🎲

Our weekly ESOL sessions were a particular success, giving young people the opportunity to practise their English, build confidence and develop friendships in a relaxed, supportive environment.

👏 A special thank you to Tracey Bradshaw who took the lead and whose enthusiasm and dedication helped make these sessions such a success, with young people choosing to return week after week!

It's fantastic to see young people embracing opportunities to learn, grow and develop their independence beyond the classroom. 💙

🥕 Good food, put to good use!

We’re proud to be partnering with FareShare, an organisation helping to tackle food waste by redistributing good-quality surplus food to charities and community organisations across the UK.

Through our collaboration, surplus food can be put to good use across Bedspace services, giving the families and young people we support access to a greater variety of food while creating opportunities to cook, try new ingredients and build practical skills for independent living.

Our partnership with FareShare reflects values we share: supporting people, strengthening communities and making better use of the resources already available.

For our teams, it’s not simply about receiving food. It’s another opportunity to turn everyday moments like planning meals and cooking together into valuable experiences that build confidence and independence.

Sometimes, the simplest gestures can mean far more than we realise. 💚

Through our ongoing partnership with Utilita, we recently received a generous donation of clothing for young people supported by Bedspace.

And it was brilliant to see that generosity in action, with several young people proudly wearing their new T-shirts at a recent Arts and Crafts session.

For young people who may have experienced significant disruption and uncertainty, something as simple as receiving something new that has been given especially for them can help them feel valued, included and thought about.

The smiles and genuine gratitude said it all.

A huge thank you to everyone at Utilita and Utilita Bowl who helped make the donation possible. We really value our ongoing partnership and the difference gestures like this can make to the young people we support. 💚

This October, we're joining communities and organisations across the UK in celebrating Black History Month.

The theme for 2026 is 'Honouring Our Communities', recognising the Black individuals whose everyday contributions help shape, support and strengthen communities across Britain.

Throughout the month, we'll be encouraging our Bedspace community to look closer to home, discover the history around them, take part in events within their communities and share the people, organisations and resources they believe deserve greater recognition.

With our teams working across towns and cities throughout the UK, it's also an opportunity to learn even more about the communities we are a part of every day.

It was brilliant to welcome young people and staff from across Bedspace to Witton Albion vs Congleton Town on Saturday for an afternoon of football, food and matchday experiences.

For some of the young people attending, it was a chance to experience the atmosphere of a live football match, enjoy the day with others and be part of something happening in the local community. 💙

Moments like these are exactly why we’re excited about our partnership with Witton Albion in the Community and the opportunities it can create for young people beyond matchday.

A big thank you to everyone who came along, and to all our colleagues who made it possible for young people to attend. ⚽️🏟️

💬 “I’ve never been to a theme park before. I loved all the rides and I wasn’t scared at all!”

Around 20 young people from across our Manchester Outreach, Manchester Residential and Preston services recently came together for a brilliant day at Alton Towers! 🎢

For some, it was their first ever theme park experience, while others were excited to return and take on even more rides than before.

Another young person shared:
💬 “I met a new friend. My favourite ride was Oblivion, it was so high!”

From taking on Oblivion and Nemesis to enjoying the arcades, the day was a great opportunity to try something different, spend time together and make some brilliant memories.

A huge thank you to Quasim (Wolverine Estates), Austin (Real Estates), Ali (Repair Man), Saj (Kingston Interiors) and Jason, whose generous donations helped fund the trip and make the day possible.

And, of course, thank you to all our colleagues who helped organise the trip and made sure everyone had a fantastic time! 🙌

⚽ 5 days to go!

This Saturday, the Bedspace Trust Community Stadium will welcome colleagues, young people and partners for another afternoon at Witton Albion, but matchday is only one part of what we’re looking forward to.

Our partnership with Witton Albion in the Community gives us a platform to bring people together, introduce young people to new experiences and, over time, open doors to training, skills development and vocational opportunities.

We’re excited to see those plans develop and to get more young people involved as the partnership grows.

For now, we’re looking forward to a great afternoon at the stadium when Witton Albion take on Congleton Town this Saturday, 26th September. 🏟️⚽

The match is getting closer, but we’re even more excited about what comes next. 💙

From garden to plate! 🌱🍔

A rainy evening wasn’t going to stop burger night for young people at our Leeds service!

Originally planned as a BBQ, the evening moved indoors, but there was something particularly special about the meal. The burger toppings had been planted and grown in the garden by the young people themselves, along with the potatoes used to make the chips! 🥔

With support from the team, everyone got involved in chopping, preparing and cooking the meal. It also created a great opportunity to talk about what September has in store, with young people sharing plans including searching for engineering apprenticeships and starting a Level 3 Business course at college!

This is a brilliant example of how everyday activities can bring together practical skills, independence and conversations about the future.

Well done to everyone involved in Leeds, and we hope the home-grown chips tasted as good as they looked! 👏

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate our growing partnership with Witton Albion in the Community, including the official renaming of Witton Albion’s home as the Bedspace Trust Community Stadium. 🏟️

But this partnership is about much more than a name...

Together, we’ll be working to create new opportunities for young people and the wider community, from community engagement and matchday experiences to developing training and vocational pathways that can make a lasting difference.

We will be kicking off our celebrations on Saturday 26th September, where Witton Albion welcome Congleton Town to the Bedspace Trust Community Stadium, alongside the amazing people we support, colleagues and partners invited to be part of the matchday experience!

We’re excited to see where this partnership takes us and what we can achieve together, both on and off the pitch. 💙⚽
