Today we’re proud to celebrate the many ways Manchester Student Homes works alongside our local communities as part . Over the past year, this has included bringing people together through neighbourhood meals, welcoming students to their neighbourhoods through off‑campus welcome events, collaborating with partners on community‑informed research projects, and contributing to Fallowfield District Centre meetings to support a vibrant, shared local place.

Register to vote in the 7 May elections by Monday 20 April, 11:59pm 🗳

Students are less likely to be registered to vote, but it only takes a few minutes to complete the form.

You can register to vote at both your home address and term time address (as long as they're not both in the same council area). And at local elections you can vote in both places.

Important Changes to Your Rights as a Private Renter (from 1 May 2026)

Big changes are coming to renting laws in England and they’ll affect you if you’re renting privately while studying in Manchester. These changes come from the Renters’ Rights Act 2025 and apply automatically to your tenancy, even if your contract isn’t updated.
