CREATE MAYFIELD // 01 — Future Loading by Callum Simmons
The first artwork in a major new creative commissioning series brought to you by the team behind Mayfield.
Stretching 300 metres along the edge of Mayfield Park, Future Loading has been entirely drawn by hand making it the UK’s longest continuous artwork of its kind.
Working directly onto the hoarding, Callum Simmons builds shifting gradients of colour inspired by the changing Manchester sky and the tones that evolve as you move along the park.
As the centrepiece to the launch of Create Mayfield, a commissioning pot worth tens of thousands of pounds is now open to artists, makers and creatives across Greater Manchester.
