Libraries Week: Libraries Change Lives through literacy and reading
Monday 1 June to Sunday 7 June 2026
Libraries Change Lives is CILIP's annual advocacy campaign capturing and celebrating the impact of libraries, putting the sector on a public platform where libraries, library staff and library users can showcase the value of their service - both locally and nationally.
Our 2026 theme is Libraries Change Lives through literacy and reading. During this week we will be supporting the National Year of Reading and putting libraries at the heart of a national celebration. This week is an opportunity to inspire people to visit their local library across the UK. This nationwide push reconnects people with the power of libraries and everything they make possible.
