Audenshaw Trough
Water trough installed when cows and horses still roamed these roads Adjacent to it is an old passenger tram electricity transformer.
This trough was placed at the junction of Manchester Road and Audenshaw Road, Audenshaw in 1879 and is made of polished granite. At that time cattle and horses were still regular users of the highways and a Miss M Asworth had the trough installed for their well-being.
