Today is world Bee Day and throughout the week we have been celebrating with our bee-themed sensory rice tray. The children have enjoyed lots of discussions about different types of bees and why bees are important to our world.
Throughout the activity we incorporated counting, numbers, pouring, textures and mark making using the honey stirrers. The children explored the sensory textures of the rice whilst developing their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and early maths language.
The children showed curiosity as they scooped, poured and created marks and patterns, engaging in imaginative play and wonderful conversations together. 🐝🍯

Our children had great fun today pretending they were little caterpillars crawling out of their cocoons.
The children loved exploring the tunnel, using their imaginations and developing their physical skills as they crawled through and emerged just like beautiful butterflies. What a lovely way to bring our butterfly theme to life!

It was time for our beautiful butterflies to fly away .
The children have absolutely loved watching them grow and change throughout their lifecycle. It has been such a lovely experience for them to observe and learn from, and they were so excited to finally watch the butterflies spread their wings and fly away.
A truly magical experience for the children to be part of.

The children have been busy creating their very own construction track today. Together we explored how to connect the different pieces, carefully placing them together to build long winding roads for the vehicles to travel along.
The children enjoyed using a variety of construction vehicles and began noticing differences in size, talking about “big” and “small” as they compared the trucks and diggers. We also practised counting the vehicles and pieces of track as we played together.

We have been using modelling dough to create Easter eggs for our baskets 🐣🥚 The children enjoyed rolling, squashing and shaping the dough, helping to strengthen their fine motor skills and hand muscles. They also used their imagination and creativity to design their own eggs and explored different shapes and textures.

we explored Easter stickers, choosing and placing them onto our paper 🐰🌸🥚 This activity supported the children’s fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination as they peeled and stuck independently. It also encouraged creativity and imagination, as well as early language skills through talking about colours, shapes and Easter objects.
