The engineeing factory later became part of AEI, GEC, GEC ALSTHOM until bought by ALSTOM and it closed in November 2002.

History of home guard, switchgear, socials, childrens christmas parties to holidays at Mottram Hall made FP staff become a community. The company was part of AEI, then became GEC Switchgear, GEC ALSTOM T&D Distribution Switchgear, to ALSTOM. Some buildings still remain on Edge Lane in Higher Openshaw on the boarder of Droylsden. The original building on Buckley Street and Edward St does not exist anymore. Morrisons Superstore now stands where these buildings were.
