"Tt's been a terrific 12 years as Chorlton councillor. I have worked with so many good people who care about their neighbours, their area and the planet. Thanks to everyone who I have worked with to make Chorlton an even better place than it already is. Good luck to the new councillor. I hope she get's as much joy, pleasure and satisfaction as I have from representing you all. Thanks also to my colleagues Tina Kirwin-McGinley and Mathew Benham and to the many Chorlton Labour members who supported me. See you around no doubt."

Chorlton Local Infrastructure Framework (LIF) Update

Last year, the Council agreed terms to purchase 50 Manchester Road to enhance health provision across Chorlton and there is now a legal agreement between the Council and the NHS to provide primary health services in this building. The Council has also opened a new public car park at the back of this building.

As a result of lobbying from local councillors, there has now been further progress with the framework, as funds have been secured to develop designs to improve public realm across Chorlton. This will focus on two areas in the district centre, the uplift in paving and planting around the Four Banks junction, and the creation of a civic square across from Chorlton Library as set out in the initial report. The designs, once agreed, will be put forward to capital funding programmes.

The Council has also agreed terms with Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) to purchase the former police station at the bus station site, and work is progressing on the future use of this building and site.
