The Heaton Woods Trust was established as Registered Charity in 1978, it is private land that is open to the public. We depend on generosity to survive.

The Heaton Woods Trust was established as a Registered Charity in 1978 as an offshoot of Heaton Township Association and its main aim is to preserve and replant Heaton Woods, the majority of which is now in the ownership of either Bradford Council or The Trust. Our ownership is nearly 40 acres which, broadly speaking, extends from Park Drive/Redburn through to the Cat Steps at the bottom of Quarry

If anyone is planning on going in Heaton Woods Trust today please be aware that there is a man camping in Renolds Wood (close to the Park Drive path). He has two large akita type dogs with him. Both he, and the dogs are aggressive. Please avoid the area.
The police are attending.

We would like to wish everyone a very happy new year and hope that you all had a very merry Christmas.

Just like previous years we are offering to recycle Christmas trees. If you would like us to recycle your tree please leave it by the main gate at the Aireville Ave entrance.

PLEASE NOTE:-
Real trees only and please ensure all decorations have been removed.

Please be careful while walking on the top meadows (especially with dogs). There was a large amount of drink and drugs cannisters including a broken bottle we think that we have removed all of it but there may still be the odd bit off glass near fire.

Today we have started doing the soil preparation ready for planting a small woodland. This is being done in conjunction with The Rotary Club as they wanted to commemorate the eradication of polio. We will also be planting a wildflower medow.

We had a really productive and what we believe was a very positive and forward focused AGM this evening. Good to meet so many people who have the best interests of the Wood at heart. Thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to the discussions.

Kind regards,
The Heaton Woods Trust

We would just like to say a massive thank-you to the kind person/people who cleared up the litter on the top fields.
One of our volunteers went to clear it up at and found that the majority had been cleared.

Once again the fields are looking fantastic with people enjoying the sunshine.

We mow numerous area for families to have picnics and play games etc. However we would appreciate that people take their rubbish home with them.

Our small band of volunteers have plenty of work to do within the Trust without additional litter picking. We would be greatfull if you see anyone leaving litter that you politely ask them to take it home with them.

It's been an absolutely beautiful day in Heaton Woods today, with many people enjoying the lovely weather.
There's still a few hours of sun left so come on down.

The blue bells are all out now, the majority of them are in Low Wood (access from the lower entrance at Aireville Ave). But do continue up in to Ross Wood.
It's a lovely walk round especially with with weather like today!
