The 4th Battalion has nine locations spread over the North West with its headquarters based in Preston. It is part of 42nd Infantry Brigade and is a light role infantry Reserve Battalion. Sport is a big part of life in the Army, and recently 4 LANCS Reservists beat their Regular counterparts from 2 LANCS in a stunning 5-1 victory. Several members of D Company contributed to the win, which was part of 2 LANCS’ 44 Towns in 44 Days.

Members of D Company receive instruction on the capabilities of the L118 105mm Light Gun.
This artillery piece is used by 209 Battery, 103 Regiment Royal Artillery, another element of the Combat Arm with whom we share our Army Reserve Centre in Belle Vue.
The instruction was provided to enhance our infantrymen's knowledge and understanding of the combat functions of the British Army, as well as adding variety to Tuesday evening Drill Nights.
