🚀 10 Years of Mersey Medical Services
👥 Staff Story 6: Peter
“What do you do?”
Like the NASA janitor who said, *“I’m helping put a man on the moon”* — it’s always more than the job title.
Peter is an Operational Team Leader within the Ambulance Service Division at Mersey Medical Services — but his journey started on the frontline.
With a passion for high-pressure environments and helping people when it matters most, Peter worked his way up, gaining real-world experience before stepping into leadership.
Now, he leads from the front.
🚑 Supporting crews on the ground
📊 Overseeing daily operations

For Peter, pressure isn’t a challenge — it’s what fuels him.
And as the organisation has grown, so has he — helping shape a service that’s not just bigger, but stronger, more professional, and focused on delivering high-quality care.
But what stands out most?
The team.
Because at Mersey:
👥 You’re part of something meaningful

🚀 10 Years of Mersey Medical Services
👥 Staff Story 5: Josh
“What do you do?”
Like the NASA janitor who said, *“I’m helping put a man on the moon”* — it’s always more than the job title.
Josh joined Mersey Medical Services 2 years ago looking for experience in emergency care… but stayed because of the people.
Starting as a Patient Transfer Attendant and now working as an Emergency Care Assistant with FREC4, Josh supports across Urgent Care, events, and frontline operations.
His role?
🚑 Preparing vehicles and equipment
🤝 Supporting clinicians on jobs
💙 Helping deliver patient care
⚙️ Keeping shifts running safely and smoothly
From helping relatives get to and from hospital appointments and admissions…
To responding to the most critical incidents — where hearts have stopped, and he’s helped bring them back…
Josh has seen every side of patient care.
It’s not always the part people see — but it’s what keeps the service moving.
Because at Mersey:
👥 You’re never just a number
📈 If you want to grow, you can
🤝 Everyone pulls together
Josh has grown with the company — gaining experience, stepping up, and becoming a key part of the team.
He’s not just doing a job.
He’s part of the mission.
Together, we are stronger.

🚀 10 Years of Mersey Medical Services
👥 Staff Story 4: Ellis
“What do you do?”
Like the NASA janitor who said, *“I’m helping put a man on the moon”* — the answer is always bigger than the title.
Ellis joined Mersey Medical Services in 2021 as an EMT, looking for something different alongside his role with North West Ambulance Service.
He quickly found his passion.
From events and festivals…
To supervising at Manchester City…
To progressing through our Event Managers development pathway…
Ellis is now one of our Event Commanders — developing leadership skills in MIMMS, scene management, and operational briefings, while completing his Silver Medical Manager training.
He’s also proud to have been part of the opening medical command team at Co-op Live, and delivering internationally at events like Snowboxx 🇫🇷
But his journey is about more than progression.
Through his transition from EMT to Paramedic, Ellis had the full support of the Mersey team every step of the way — something he describes as a “second family”.
Because at Mersey:
🧭 Leaders are developed, not just appointed
🤝 Support is always there — 24/7
🚑 Every role contributes to the bigger picture
Ellis isn’t just commanding events…
He’s leading teams.
He’s shaping care delivery.
He’s part of the mission.
And that’s what makes the difference.
Together, we are stronger.
