Seen this on the tinternet and thought I would share this with you all. We did pretty much the same thing on a three week trip a few years ago and as a driver it worked really well.

What is the 3-3-3 rule for motorhomes?

The 3-3-3 rule for motorhomes is a travel guideline designed to reduce fatigue and maximize enjoyment, suggesting you drive no more than 300 miles per day, stay for at least three nights at each campground, and arrive at your destination by 3 PM.

This approach prevents burnout, ensures you have time to set up safely in daylight, and allows for exploring the local area.

Key Aspects of the 3-3-3 Rule
300 Miles Max: Limits driving to around 300 miles to avoid fatigue, accounting for slower motorhome speeds, stops, and fuel.
3 PM Arrival: Ensures you arrive before dark to set up comfortably, handle potential maintenance issues (like emptying the loo and refilling the water ), and enjoy the campground.
3 Nights Stay: Encourages staying at least three nights at a location to create a "home base," reducing packing/unpacking stress and allowing for two full days of exploration.

This Allows for in-depth exploration of a specific area rather than just driving through.

Alternatives:

Some travelers adapt this to a "2-2-2" (200 miles, 2 nights, 2 PM arrival) for an even slower pace or a "4-4-4" for higher daily mileage.
